What is Zintona® and what is it used for?

Zintona® is a herbal medicine for nausea.

Indications

• Prevention of motion sickness (kinetosis) symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and vomiting

• Symptomatic relief of mild forms of nausea and vomiting in early pregnancy (up to the 16th week of pregnancy)

Application and Dosage

Always take Zintona® exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

Motion Sickness

Adults and children aged 6 years and older should take 2 capsules whole with sufficient liquid approximately 30 minutes before the start of the journey. Thereafter, another 2 capsules can be taken every 4 hours.

Maximum daily dose: 6 capsules.

Nausea and Vomiting in Pregnancy

Take 2 capsules whole with sufficient liquid in the morning. If symptoms recur, an additional 2 capsules can be taken.

Maximum daily dose: 4 capsules.

Duration of Use

If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 2 to 3 days, a doctor should be consulted.

Due to insufficient data, use in children under 6 years of age is not recommended.

Information on Overdosage

There have been no reports of overdoses to date. In the event of an overdose, known side effects may be intensified.

Missed Dose

Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

Active ingredient

• 250 mg ginger root powder (Zingiberis rhizoma) per capsule

Other ingredients

• Highly dispersed silicon dioxide

• Gelatin

• Indigocarmine (E132)

• Titanium dioxide (E171)

• Sodium dodecyl sulfate

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Zintona® can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Occasionally, mild gastrointestinal complaints such as heartburn, stomach irritation, abdominal pain or diarrhea may occur.

In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions, especially allergic skin reactions, may occur.

If signs of an allergic reaction or other unusual symptoms occur, discontinue use and seek medical advice.

Special Notes

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, use should only be as directed in the package leaflet or after consultation with a doctor or pharmacist.

If symptoms persist, are unclear, or worsen, medical clarification is required.
