What are Traumeel®-Drops and what are they used for?

How are Traumeel®-Drops used?

Traumeel®-Drops are taken orally. You can take the drops with water, however, the drops can also be used without water. It is recommended to take them before meals.

Dosage of Traumeel®-Drops

The dosage of Traumeel®-Drops depends on both the age of the patient and the symptoms and their intensity. For acute complaints, the following frequency of application is recommended:

• For children from 2 to 6 years: 5 drops every half to full hour (maximum 8 applications per day)
• For children from 6 to 12 years: 7 drops every half to full hour (maximum 8 applications per day)
• For adolescents from 12 years and adults: 10 drops every half to full hour (maximum 8 applications per day)

If the symptoms subside, the preparation should be taken less frequently. On average, the following frequency is recommended:

• For children from 2 to 6 years: 5 drops three times daily
• For children from 6 to 12 years: 7 drops three times daily
• For adolescents from 12 years and adults: 10 drops three times daily

Other notes on Traumeel®-Drops

Traumeel®-Drops are a safe and effective medicine characterized by good tolerability. Please note the following information regarding this proprietary medicinal product.

• If salivation occurs after taking Traumeel®-Drops, the application should be discontinued.
• Traumeel®-Drops contain 35% by volume of alcohol. This means that the 100 ml bottle of Traumeel® contains a total of 30 g of alcohol and the 28 ml bottle contains a total of 8.4 g of alcohol. In infants, this amount can cause alcohol poisoning. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should also note this alcohol content. Alcoholics should not use Traumeel®-Drops.
• In case of hypersensitivity to composites or the presence of pre-existing conditions mentioned in the package leaflet, Traumeel®-Drops should not be taken.
• With homeopathic medicinal products such as Traumeel®, initial reactions may occur. These are rapidly subsiding and short-term intensifications of the original complaints.
• If initial reactions persist, the preparation should be discontinued and medical advice sought.
• If symptoms persist after about 7 days or if they worsen, you must have your symptoms clarified by a doctor.
• If you intend to take Traumeel®-Drops for a longer period, it is recommended to be accompanied by homeopathically active doctors. This is important, among other things, to prevent the possibility of an undesirable drug test.

Traumeel®-Drops have a total alcohol content of 35% by volume. Thus, up to 147 mg per single dose and up to 1176 mg per maximum daily dose of alcohol are contained in the medicinal product. Alcoholics should therefore not be treated with Traumeel®-Drops. In infants, accidental ingestion of the entire bottle contents can lead to alcohol poisoning.
