At the first signs of a sore throat, TANTUM VERDE® PROTECT is the right solution. The mouth spray helps in the early stages and with mild symptoms such as a scratchy throat and has a triple action:

An additional area of application is the short-term, supportive local treatment of irritation of the throat, mouth and gums, for gingivitis and before and after tooth extraction.

The TANTUM VERDE® FORTE throat spray is used for the targeted, symptomatic treatment of painful inflammations and swelling in the mouth and throat.

The active ingredient in TANTUM VERDE® is benzydamine hydrochloride, which has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. After rapid absorption and local accumulation in the inflamed tissue, symptoms quickly subside. TANTUM VERDE® is well tolerated locally and provides targeted therapy for inflammation symptoms and difficulty swallowing.

TANTUM VERDE® FORTE throat spray is suitable for adults, adolescents and children from 2 years of age.

What does TANTUM VERDE® FORTE throat spray taste like?
The spray has a refreshing mint flavour.

How should TANTUM VERDE® FORTE mouth spray be used?
TANTUM VERDE® throat spray is generally used 2 - 6 times a day (every 1 ½ -3 hours):
Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 2 - 4 sprays each
Children between 6 and 12 years: 2 sprays each
Children under 6 years: 1 spray per 8 kg body weight, maximum 2 sprays

Due to the menthol content (peppermint flavour), do not use in infants and children under 2 years of age.

Can TANTUM VERDE® FORTE mouth and throat spray also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
When used as directed, it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

What ingredients are contained in TANTUM VERDE® FORTE mouth spray?
The active ingredient is: benzydamine hydrochloride. 1 ml contains 1.5 mg benzydamine hydrochloride.
The other ingredients are: saccharin sodium, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (preservative), glycerol, 96% ethanol (alcohol), peppermint flavour, macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate, purified water.

Do not use TANTUM VERDE® FORTE mouth spray if you are allergic to benzydamine hydrochloride or the other ingredients.

Causes and effects of sore throats

We often only think about our throat when it causes us discomfort. Yet it is essential for many everyday things: speaking, laughing, singing and even eating - we can only do all this with a healthy throat. If it then scratches, hurts or the voice fails, even a short conversation becomes a challenge. Who would have thought how much our social life depends on a functioning throat?(2)
Sore throats, also known as pharyngitis, can be painful and uncomfortable for several days. Typical symptoms include:

• Pain and difficulty swallowing
• Hoarseness
• Dry cough
• Scratchy throat

These symptoms are caused by inflammation in the throat area, for example in the pharynx, larynx or tonsils (3-5). Such inflammations are often caused by viruses or bacteria (3). Therefore, in the case of throat discomfort, it is particularly important not only to relieve the pain, but also to combat the inflammation in order to eliminate the cause of the discomfort.
