Rhinospray® plus nasal spray with essential oils

Rhinospray® plus is a decongestant nasal spray for use in cases of acute allergic or non-allergic rhinitis. The active ingredient tramazoline causes the nasal mucosa to shrink, thereby facilitating nasal breathing.

The combination with the essential oils eucalyptol (cineole), menthol, and camphor additionally supports the feeling of free and unobstructed nasal breathing.

The fine spray mist allows for even distribution in the nose and reaches the area of the paranasal sinus openings.

Mechanism of action

The active ingredient tramazoline possesses vasoconstrictive properties. By narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, its swelling subsides and nasal breathing is facilitated.

The essential oils eucalyptol, menthol, and camphor contained in the product enhance the subjective feeling of free nasal breathing.

Indications

Rhinospray® plus is used for decongestion of the nasal mucosa in cases of acute allergic or non-allergic rhinitis.

Dosage

Adults, adolescents, and children aged 6 and over:

As needed, spray one puff into each nostril up to 4 times daily.

The recommended dosage should not be exceeded.

Application

Clean the nose carefully before use.

Remove the protective cap and insert the spray head into a nostril. Inhale gently through the nose while spraying.

Repeat the process for the other nostril.

After use, clean the spray head and replace the protective cap.

For hygienic reasons, a nasal spray should only be used by one person.

Notes

Rhinospray® plus should only be used in accordance with the package leaflet or as directed by a doctor or pharmacist.

Prolonged or excessive use of decongestant nasal sprays should be avoided, as this can lead to renewed or increased swelling of the nasal mucosa.

Medical advice should be sought if symptoms persist or worsen.

Other ingredients

Benzalkonium chloride (0.202 mg/ml), cineole (0.101 mg/ml), menthol (0.202 mg/ml), camphor (0.202 mg/ml), citric acid, sodium hydroxide, hypromellose, povidone, glycerol, magnesium sulfate, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride, purified water.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Rhinospray® plus can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

In particular, irritation or dryness of the nasal mucosa, nasal discomfort, sneezing, or nosebleeds are possible. Headaches, dizziness, palpitations, or an increase in blood pressure can also occur.

With prolonged or excessive use of decongestant nasal sprays, renewed or increased swelling of the nasal mucosa may occur after the effect wears off.

In case of severe, unusual, or persistent symptoms, use should be discontinued and a doctor or pharmacist contacted.
