What is ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel and what is it used for?
ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel contains the active ingredient diclofenac, which belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel is used in adults and adolescents aged 14 and over.

For adults and adolescents aged 14 and over
For the local, symptomatic treatment of pain in acute strains, sprains or bruises resulting from blunt trauma.
For adolescents aged 14 and over, the medicine is intended for short-term treatment.

How to use ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Adults and adolescents aged 14 and over
ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel 2% gel should be applied twice daily (preferably in the morning and evening).
Depending on the size of the affected area to be treated, a cherry to walnut-sized amount, corresponding to 1-4 g of gel, is required.
The maximum total daily dose is 8 g of gel.

Elderly patients
No special dose adjustment is required. However, elderly patients should pay particular attention to side effects and, if necessary, consult their doctor or pharmacist.

Impaired kidney or liver function
No dose reduction is required.

Use in children and adolescents (under 14 years of age)
ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel must not be used in children under 14 years of age (see section 2 “ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel must not be used”).

Before first use, open the tube as follows:
1. Unscrew the cap from the tube. To open the safety seal, turn the cap upside down and place it on the tube opening. Do not use scissors or other sharp objects!
2. Remove the plastic seal from the tube by twisting. Use the gel as described in this leaflet. If the seal is damaged, you must not use the product.

Applying the gel:
ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel is intended for topical application to the skin.
Apply a thin layer of the gel to the affected areas of the body and rub it lightly into the skin. Wash your hands after rubbing in the gel, unless your hands are the area to be treated.

Duration of treatment:
The duration of use depends on the symptoms and the underlying disease.
ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel must not be used for longer than 1 week without medical advice.
If symptoms have not improved or have worsened after 3-5 days, consult your doctor.

If you have used more ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel than you should
An overdose is unlikely if you have used more ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel than you should, as ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel is absorbed into the bloodstream only to a small extent when applied to the skin. If the recommended dose for topical application is significantly exceeded, the gel should be removed and washed off with water.
In case of accidental swallowing of ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel, contact your doctor, who will decide on appropriate measures.

If you have forgotten to use ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel
Do not use a double dose if you have forgotten the previous application.

What ratioDolor Diclofenac pain gel 2% gel contains

• The active ingredient is diclofenac. 1 g contains 23.2 mg diclofenac diethylamine, corresponding to 20 mg diclofenac sodium.
  
• The other ingredients are: Isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol (E 1520), cocoylcaprylocaprate, liquid paraffin, carbomer, macrogol cetylstearyl ether, diethylethanamine, oleic acid (E 570), butylhydroxytoluene, fragrance (contains camphor, eucalyptol, ambroxide, citronellol, geraniol, benzyl alcohol, linalool, limonene, citral, farnesol, coumarin, eugenol), (contains citronellol, geraniol, benzyl alcohol, linalool, limonene, citral, farnesol, coumarin, eugenol), purified water.
