What are PROSPAN® Acute Effervescent Tablets and what are they used for?
Prospan® Acute Effervescent Tablets are a herbal medicine for dissolving mucus in coughs associated with colds.

Prospan® Acute Effervescent Tablets facilitate expectoration, relax the bronchial muscles and thus soothe the cough.

Prospan® Acute Effervescent Tablets with fruity orange flavor.

How should Prospan® Acute Effervescent Tablets be used?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over:
1 effervescent tablet twice daily

Children from 4 to 12 years:
½ effervescent tablet 3 times daily Prospan® acute is not suitable for children under 4 years of age. The effervescent tablet can be divided into equal doses.

Method of administration
To be taken after dissolving.

The effervescent tablets are dissolved in a glass of water (100 ml – 200 ml) and taken. Both hot and cold water can be used for dissolving.

Duration of use
If symptoms worsen or if no improvement occurs after 1 week, you should consult a doctor.

If you have taken a larger quantity of Prospan® Acute Effervescent Tablets than you should have
In case of overdose, irritation of the digestive tract and possibly vomiting may occur. The symptoms are reversible upon discontinuation of the preparation.

If you have forgotten to take Prospan® Acute Effervescent Tablets
Do not take a double dose if you have forgotten to take the previous dose. Continue taking the medicine as prescribed by your doctor or as described in the package leaflet.

What Prospan® Acute Effervescent Tablets contain
The active ingredient is: dry ivy leaf extract.
1 effervescent tablet contains 65 mg of dry ivy leaf extract (drug to extract ratio 5 - 7.5 : 1; extracting agent: ethanol 30% (m/m))

The other ingredients are: 
Anhydrous citric acid, sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium carbonate, mannitol (E 421), simethicone, saccharin sodium, sodium cyclamate, sodium citrate dihydrate, sorbitol (E 420), medium-chain triglycerides, macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate, orange flavor (contains 29.7 mg lactose).
