Otrivin 0.05% Nasal Spray without Preservatives

Otrivin 0.05% Nasal Spray without preservatives is a decongestant nasal spray for the symptomatic treatment of colds in children between 2 and 12 years of age. It works within 2 minutes and clears the nose for up to 12 hours. The spray is suitable for use with colds, hay fever, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, and as an adjunct in middle ear infections. By eliminating preservatives, the risk of irritation and allergic reactions is minimized.

Ingredients/Composition:
Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.5 mg/ml, Sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, Disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, Sodium chloride, Disodium edetate dihydrate, purified water.

Side Effects:
Common: headache, burning sensation at the application site, dry nasal and throat mucous membranes, sneezing, nausea. Occasional: nosebleeds, increased swelling of the mucous membrane after the effect subsides. Rare: palpitations, rapid pulse, increased blood pressure. Very rare: restlessness, insomnia, hallucinations (especially in children), visual disturbances, irregular heartbeat, seizures, allergic reactions such as skin rash and swelling. In case of signs of an allergic reaction (e.g., shortness of breath, facial swelling), seek immediate medical attention.

Active Ingredients:
Xylometazoline hydrochloride.

Composition:
1 ml solution contains 0.5 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride. 1 spray corresponds to 0.07 ml solution.

Application/Dosage:
For children aged 2 to 12 years: 1 spray up to 3 times daily into each nostril, with at least 8 hours between applications. Last application ideally in the evening before bedtime. Do not use for more than 7 days. After one week of treatment, a break of several days is required. Not suitable for children under 2 years of age. Use in children aged 2–6 years should only be done on medical recommendation. Clean nose before use. Prime pump 4 times before first use. Spray should only be used by one person.

Storage/Notes:
Do not store above 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date. Do not spray into eyes or mouth. Do not use if the solution is cloudy or contains particles.
