Who is OMNi-LOGiC® APPLE PECTIN suitable for?

Our gut bacteria have numerous tasks, including nutrient utilization. But the gut also plays an important role in achieving our feel-good weight: If this isn't achieved through calorie control or physical activity, the cause may lie in our gut flora. All our gut bacteria have in common that they can be divided into two large groups: the so-called Bacteroidetes and the Firmicutes.

Bacteroidetes are useful for achieving your ideal figure: They can actively isolate excess sugar and excrete it from the gut. Normally, Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes are present in a balanced ratio in the gut. In overweight individuals, however, it is often the case that the gut flora is out of balance and the Firmicutes bacterial group strongly predominates. The ratio can be shifted by up to 2,000:1. This means the gut contains 2,000 times more Firmicutes than Bacteroidetes!

Firmicutes have the special property that they can break down food components that are actually indigestible for humans (namely the so-called fiber and complex carbohydrates). This creates many easily digestible carbohydrates in the gut – much more than in a gut with an optimal bacterial ratio – which are absorbed in addition to the calories consumed. This "hidden" intake can easily account for an additional 200 calories per day – thus making the path to a better appearance more difficult.

In addition, the shift in bacterial ratios – towards Firmicutes – can become self-perpetuating: The more carbohydrates (e.g., sugar, pasta, etc.) are consumed, the more comfortable the Firmicutes feel and the better they can multiply in the gut.
