OMNi-BiOTiC® FiBRE Apple Pectin is a food supplement containing high-quality apple pectin. Pectin is a soluble dietary fiber that can be used as a food source by certain bacteria in the human intestinal microbiome.

The product was previously called OMNi-LOGiC® APPLE PECTIN and is now offered under the name OMNi-BiOTiC® FiBRE Apple Pectin.

The recommended daily dose of 6 capsules provides 3.9 g of apple pectin, of which 2.54 g is galacturonic acid.

Our intestinal bacteria fulfill numerous tasks. This includes, among other things, the processing of various food components.

The human intestinal microbiome consists of a very large number of different microorganisms. Known bacterial groups include Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes.

These bacterial groups have different metabolic properties and are involved, among other things, in the processing of food components and dietary fibers.

The composition of the intestinal microbiome differs from person to person and is influenced by numerous factors. These include, for example, diet, age, lifestyle, medication, and various environmental factors.

Scientific research is also investigating possible links between the composition of the intestinal microbiome, metabolism, and body weight.

However, body weight itself is influenced by numerous factors. Therefore, no reliable statement about an individual's body weight or potential weight loss can be derived from the ratio of individual intestinal bacterial groups alone.

Why apple pectin?

Apple pectin is a natural soluble dietary fiber.

Pectins occur as a component of plant cell walls and are found particularly in various types of fruit. In the human small intestine, they are not completely digested like ordinary carbohydrates. In the large intestine, they can be fermented by certain intestinal bacteria and used as a food source.

OMNi-BiOTiC® FiBRE Apple Pectin therefore does not add extra bacterial strains to the intestine, but instead provides a dietary fiber with apple pectin that can be utilized by existing intestinal bacteria.

How does OMNi-BiOTiC® FiBRE Apple Pectin work?

OMNi-BiOTiC® FiBRE Apple Pectin contains apple pectin as a specifically selected soluble dietary fiber.

Certain intestinal bacteria can ferment pectin and use it for their metabolism. This produces various metabolic products such as short-chain fatty acids, among others.

The targeted intake of apple pectin can therefore be a useful addition to a high-fiber and gut-conscious diet.

The recommended daily amount of 6 capsules contains a total of 3.90 g of apple pectin, of which 2.54 g is galacturonic acid.

Apple pectin and feel-good weight

The composition of the intestinal microbiome is being scientifically investigated as one of many possible factors in the complex interplay between diet, metabolism, and body weight.

Adequate dietary fiber intake is generally part of a balanced diet.

However, to reach and maintain an individual feel-good weight, total energy intake, diet, physical activity, and individual metabolic factors are particularly important.

Recommended intake

3 capsules 2 times daily with plenty of liquid before meals.

To gradually accustom the digestive tract to the additional fiber intake, the manufacturer recommends a slow start.

Recommended gradual increase:

At the beginning, take 1 capsule 3 times daily of OMNi-BiOTiC® FiBRE Apple Pectin.

After 3 days, increase to a total of 4 capsules daily.

After another 3 days, increase to a total of 5 capsules daily.

After another 3 days, the recommended daily dose of 3 capsules 2 times daily, i.e., 6 capsules daily in total, can be reached.

Always take the capsules with sufficient liquid.

Combination option

OMNi-BiOTiC® FiBRE Apple Pectin can be combined with OMNi-BiOTiC® metabolic.

While OMNi-BiOTiC® FiBRE Apple Pectin provides apple pectin as a soluble dietary fiber, OMNi-BiOTiC® metabolic contains selected bacterial strains.

This combines two different nutritional approaches: the supply of selected bacterial strains and the provision of a dietary fiber that can be used as a food source by certain intestinal bacteria.

Side effects and tolerance

Apple pectin is a soluble dietary fiber. Especially with a rapid increase in fiber intake, sensitive individuals may experience temporary bloating, a feeling of fullness, or changes in bowel habits.

For this reason, a gradual increase to the recommended daily amount is recommended, especially if you previously had a low-fiber diet.

The capsules should always be taken with sufficient liquid.

In case of known allergies or intolerances to any of the ingredients, the product should not be taken.
