What is Nurofen rapid and what is it used for?
Ibuprofen belongs to the group of so-called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medicines work by changing the body's response to pain and fever. Nurofen rapid disintegrates quickly in the body, and the active ingredient released from the capsule is thus easily absorbed and quickly reaches the painful area. The capsules are small and soft and therefore easy to swallow. Thanks to their liquid core with ibuprofen in dissolved form, the active ingredient is quickly absorbed by the body. They thus quickly relieve mild to moderate pain such as menstrual pain, headaches and toothaches, and fever.

Recommended use:

• Nurofen For mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches and menstrual pain. Fever and pain associated with colds. Ideal painkiller, disintegrates in the body and thus quickly reaches the painful area - ideal for adolescents.
• Nurofen rapid is indicated for use in adults, adolescents and children weighing 20 kg or more (approx. 6 years old). It may only be given to children aged 6 to 12 years and/or weighing 20 kg or more under medical prescription.

Menstrual pain can interfere with daily life, for example at school or at work. The abdominal pain is usually worst when the period begins or shortly before, and usually subsides within the next 2 to 3 days. During ovulation, approx. 14 days before the period begins, so-called mittelschmerz can also occur, which manifests as a stinging, one-sided pain in the lower abdomen.
WHAT HELPS WITH MENSTRUAL PAIN?
Various measures can help relieve menstrual pain:

• Exercise and regular physical activity in daily life, and not neglecting general fitness
• Effective and simple relaxation measures: e.g. relaxation techniques, hot water bottles or packs, or bed rest

WHAT CAUSES MENSTRUAL PAIN?
Menstrual pain is essentially caused by prostaglandins (the body's own messenger substances), which are increasingly released during the period. Some women have higher prostaglandin levels than others and are more likely to suffer from menstrual pain. Prostaglandins cause the muscles in the uterine wall to contract, which can be perceived as cramp-like pain.
