Nizoral 2% Dandruff Treatment Shampoo

Dandruff is often not a cosmetic problem, but a disease, as the cause of flaky hair is often a fungal infection of the scalp. It is also a common and recurring problem, as one in two people will experience further symptoms such as itching, burning and redness of the scalp at some point in their lives.

Nizoral® treats and prevents dandruff and its symptoms such as dry, flaky, red and itchy scalp. It not only combats dandruff, but Nizoral® also targets the medical cause often associated with dandruff, the dandruff fungus (Malassezia furfur).

Visible results can be seen after just two weeks of use. Nizoral® is also suitable for all hair types, including colored, treated and mature hair.

Areas of application
For the treatment and recurrence prevention of dandruff in adults and children aged 12 and over.

Dosage, type and duration of application
Apply the clear pink-orange shampoo to wet hair (approx. 1-2 teaspoons per wash) and leave on for 3-5 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly. Nizoral® can be used twice a week for 2-4 weeks. The shampoo should not get into the eyes.

For recurrence prevention, a single application every 1-2 weeks is recommended.

If symptoms persist or if no clinical improvement occurs after a maximum of 4 weeks, medical consultation with a re-evaluation of the treatment approach is required.

Possible side effects
Occasionally (may affect up to 1 in 100 treated individuals):

• Taste disturbance (dysgeusia)
• Inflammation of the hair follicle (folliculitis)
• Eye irritation; increased tearing
• Acne; hair loss (alopecia); contact dermatitis
• Dry skin; abnormal hair structure
• Rash; skin burning sensation
• Skin disorders; skin peeling
• Skin reaction at the application site: inflammatory redness of the skin (erythema), irritation, hypersensitivity of the skin or immune system, skin itching (pruritus), pustules

Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):

• Hives (urticaria)
• Swelling of the skin and mucous membranes due to fluid accumulation in the tissue, in the face and
• Pharynx possibly with shortness of breath (angioedema)
• Hair color change

Discontinue treatment if you do not tolerate the shampoo.

Composition
1 g contains 20 mg ketoconazole.

Set consisting of:

• 2x Nizoral 2% medical shampoo
