Taking statins not only affects cholesterol levels, but also the absorption, processing, and excretion of endogenous substances, vitamins, and minerals. This can lead to changes in nutrient balance, particularly vitamin D, selenium, coenzyme Q10, and certain B vitamins.

Furthermore, statins can affect muscle and nerve function and cause fatigue. A balanced vitamin D level is particularly important here, as vitamin D plays a crucial role in normal muscle function. Niacin is also required, as this water-soluble vitamin from the B vitamin group supports energy metabolism and helps reduce fatigue.

Selenium helps the body protect cells from oxidative stress. Coenzyme Q10 exists in two forms: ubiquinone and ubiquinol. Ubiquinone (the inactive form of coenzyme Q10) is converted into the active form, ubiquinol, in the body.

The ubiquinol variant contained here no longer requires activation in the body. The water-soluble B vitamins B1, B2, and B6 support the normal function of the nervous system.
