Lutamax DUO 20 mg
Lutamax DUO is a dietary food for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration.
Area of application:
Lutamax-DUO capsules were specially developed as a dietary supplement for the protection of the retina in age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Lutamax DUO contains the essential nutrients lutein, zeaxanthin and the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA. All these substances are of natural origin and are used in particular purity in the production of Lutamax DUO. Lutein and zeaxanthin are natural protective factors and are stored in the retinal photoreceptor cells. There, they filter the particularly high-energy blue light and thus protect the photoreceptor cells from light damage. Lutein therefore acts as a "natural pair of sunglasses" for the eye. The omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA are necessary for the proper functioning of the photoreceptor cells and increase the eye's resistance to harmful influences.
Advantages
Dosage studies have shown that at least 10 mg of lutein is needed daily to significantly increase lutein levels in the retina. With an initial dosage of 20 mg lutein daily, the response rate can be further increased.
The supplementary balanced diet of Lutamax DUO ensures a targeted and controlled supply of highly pure lutein and zeaxanthin in the recommended dosage.
Scientific studies have also shown that omega-3 fatty acids can significantly reduce the risk of further development of AMD. Omega-3 fatty acids are important components for the proper functioning of photoreceptors. In addition, they protect cells from dying off and have anti-inflammatory effects.
The risk of late-stage AMD can be significantly reduced by regularly taking omega-3 fatty acids (especially DHA and EPA). In Central Europe, the average intake of omega-3 fatty acids is about 170 mg per day. 500 mg is recommended as a total daily intake. A supplementary intake, e.g. with Lutamax DUO, covers the daily additional requirement.
