Description

Lefax® Suspension works quickly and gently for gas-related complaints in the gastrointestinal tract. The medicine is suitable for the treatment of flatulence, feelings of fullness, tightness in the upper abdomen, and infant colic (3-month colic).

The practical dosing pump enables simple, hygienic, and precise dosing. This makes Lefax® Suspension particularly suitable for infants, toddlers, elderly people, and adults with swallowing difficulties.

The suspension is free of alcohol, sugar, and lactose, contains no sodium benzoate, and has a pleasant banana flavor. Due to its good tolerability, Lefax® Suspension can also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Areas of Application

Lefax® Suspension is used for:

• Flatulence

• Feeling of fullness

• Tightness in the upper abdomen

• Bloating (meteorism)

• Infant colic (3-month colic)

• Gas-related abdominal pain

• Increased gas formation after operations

• Flatulence during pregnancy

Mechanism of Action

The active ingredient simethicone releases gases trapped in foam bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract. This allows the gases to escape naturally. At the same time, the new formation of foam is reduced.

Simethicone acts exclusively locally in the gastrointestinal tract, is not absorbed by the body, and is excreted unchanged.

Application

Shake the bottle vigorously before each use.

Dosage for gas-related gastrointestinal complaints

Infants and bottle-fed babies

• Add 1 to 2 pump strokes to the bottle with milk feeds.

Toddlers

• 2 pump strokes with or after meals.

Adults

• 2 to 4 pump strokes with or after meals.

The intake should be with a little water. If necessary, the application can also be done before bedtime.

Duration of Application

Lefax® Suspension can be used for a longer period due to its good tolerability.

Newly occurring or persistent complaints should be clarified by a doctor.

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Lefax® Suspension can have side effects, but not everyone experiences them.

Simethicone is considered very well tolerated. In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions to individual ingredients may occur.

If unusual symptoms occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be informed.
