Lefax® chewable tablets against flatulence and other gas-related symptoms
Bloating, stomach cramps and distended abdomen: Many people are familiar with the typical complaints of too much air in the stomach and intestines. The cause is usually our diet, which can lead to an increased accumulation of gas in the abdomen. However, the way we eat our meals is also crucial. Because eating quickly often has the unpleasant side effect that more air is swallowed. A possible consequence: too much air in the abdomen, which leads to flatulence. Lefax® chewable tablets help against these and other symptoms such as stomach pain and other gas-related digestive complaints. After operations or during pregnancy, flatulence can also increase. In these cases, too, Lefax® chewable tablets provide relief.

The active ingredient of Lefax® chewable tablets
Lefax® chewable tablets contain the active ingredient simethicone and help with excessive gas formation and gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract (meteorism). The active ingredient frees the air trapped in gas bubbles in the stomach and intestines and thus relieves gas-related complaints such as bloating, a feeling of fullness in the upper abdomen and abdominal pain.

Simethicone acts exclusively locally in the gastrointestinal tract and frees the trapped gases there. In the stomach, the active ingredient mixes with the chyme and thus also prevents the formation of new foams. Since the active ingredient is not absorbed by the body and is completely excreted again, Lefax® chewable tablets are well tolerated.

How to take Lefax® chewable tablets?
Lefax® chewable tablets are already approved for children from two years of age and are therefore suitable for the whole family. Pregnant and breastfeeding women can also take the chewable tablets. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the dosage for gas-related gastrointestinal complaints is 1 to 2 Lefax® chewable tablets 3 times a day, which you should take with or after a meal. If necessary, it is also possible to take them before going to bed. The tablets only need to be chewed; water is not required. This makes the remedy for flatulence ideal for taking on the go and also quickly relieves symptoms on vacation or business trips.

Lefax® chewable tablets can, if necessary, also be taken for a longer period of time. In the event of new and/or prolonged abdominal complaints, a doctor should be consulted to find the cause of the problems and to diagnose any underlying illness requiring treatment.

1 Lefaxin® chewable tablet contains 42 mg of the active ingredient simethicone.

Due to its special surface activity, simethicone causes the foamy bubbles, in which the increased digestive gases are trapped, to immediately disintegrate.

The gases thus released can then escape naturally again. Taking Lefaxin® chewable tablets leads to rapid relief of symptoms with a feeling of alleviation and eliminates the feeling of tension in the bloated abdomen. The active ingredient itself is not absorbed into the bloodstream, but is excreted unchanged.

Areas of application:
Lefaxin® chewable tablets are used for excessive gas formation and gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract (meteorism) with complaints such as flatulence, bloating and a feeling of fullness in the upper abdomen, as well as for increased gas formation after operations or for the preparation of diagnostic examinations in the abdominal area to reduce gas shadows (e.g. sonography, X-rays).
