Description

Lefax® chewable tablets provide fast and reliable relief for symptoms caused by excessive gas formation and accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract. The active ingredient Simeticone releases the air trapped in gas bubbles and supports their natural expulsion.

This can quickly alleviate flatulence, bloating, a feeling of fullness in the upper abdomen, and other gas-related complaints. The practical chewable tablets are easy to use, require no water, and are therefore particularly suitable for on-the-go use.

The pleasant peppermint flavor also ensures uncomplicated consumption.

Areas of Application

Lefax® chewable tablets are used for:

• Excessive gas formation and accumulation in the gastrointestinal area (meteorism)

• Flatulence

• Bloating

• Feeling of fullness in the upper abdomen

• Gas-related abdominal discomfort

• Increased gas formation after surgery

• Preparation for diagnostic examinations in the abdominal area to reduce gas shadows (e.g., ultrasound or X-ray)

Suitable for adults and children from 2 years of age.

Mechanism of Action

The active ingredient Simeticone causes the breakdown of foam bubbles in which digestive gases are trapped. The released gases can then escape naturally.

Simeticone acts exclusively locally in the gastrointestinal tract, is not absorbed into the bloodstream, and is excreted unchanged. Therefore, Lefax® chewable tablets are considered well-tolerated.

Application

Unless otherwise prescribed:

• Take 1 to 2 chewable tablets 3 times daily with or after meals.

• If necessary, an additional dose can be taken before bedtime.

The tablets must be thoroughly chewed. Taking them with water is not necessary.

Duration of Application

Lefax® chewable tablets can also be used over a longer period if necessary.

New or persistent symptoms should be clarified by a doctor.

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Lefax® can have side effects, although not everyone experiences them.

Simeticone is considered very well-tolerated. In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions to individual components of the preparation may occur.
