Description

Lefax® intens liquid capsules were specially developed for the treatment of more pronounced flatulence and other gas-related discomfort. The active ingredient simethicone releases gases trapped in foam bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract and supports their natural expulsion.

Due to its local action in the digestive tract, symptoms such as fullness, pressure in the abdomen, and flatulence are effectively relieved. The active ingredient is not absorbed into the bloodstream and is excreted unchanged.

With 250 mg of simethicone per capsule, Lefax® intens liquid capsules are among the high-dose products in the Lefax® range and are particularly suitable for more severe gas-related discomfort.

The taste-neutral liquid capsules have a smooth surface and are easy to swallow. They are free of alcohol, sugar, colorants, and flavorings.

Indications

Lefax® intens liquid capsules are used for:

• Flatulence

• Feeling of fullness

• Belching

• Pressure in the abdomen

• Cramping abdominal discomfort due to gas accumulation

• Gas-related discomfort in the gastrointestinal tract

Additionally, the liquid capsules are suitable for preparing for imaging examinations of the abdomen, such as:

• Ultrasound examinations

• X-ray examinations

Mechanism of Action

Simethicone dissolves gas bubbles and foam accumulations present in the digestive tract. This allows trapped gases to escape more easily, reducing discomfort such as flatulence, bloating, and pressure.

The active ingredient mixes with the chyme in the stomach and helps to reduce the new formation of foam.

Application

Adults and adolescents aged 14 and over take for gas-related discomfort:

• Up to 1 liquid capsule 4 times daily

Take with or after meals. If necessary, an additional dose can be taken before bedtime.

Swallow the capsules whole with sufficient liquid.

Duration of Use

The duration of use depends on the course of the symptoms.

Lefax® intens liquid capsules can also be used for a longer period if necessary.

If symptoms persist for a long time or recur, medical clarification should be sought.

Notes

• Do not chew.

• Take with sufficient liquid.

• Free of alcohol, sugar, colorants, and flavorings.

• Suitable for diabetics.

• Also suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

• Do not take a double dose if you forget a dose.

Side Effects

Lefax® intens liquid capsules are considered well-tolerated due to their local mechanism of action.

In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions to individual components may occur. If unusual symptoms occur, discontinue use and seek medical advice.
