What are Kaloba® Direct Granules?
Kaloba® is an effective herbal medicine with a proven active ingredient from the South African Cape Pelargonium. In technical terms, this medicinal plant is called Pelargonium sidoides. Its antibacterial, antiviral and mucolytic active ingredients are mainly found in its root (Pelargonii radix). The powerful effects of this unique plant were formerly used in Europe against tuberculosis. The modern, phytotherapeutic root extract in Kaloba® Direct Granules is now used as follows:

• for symptomatic treatment of acute bronchial infections
• when cough with mucus production is to be treated with herbal medicine
• for causal treatment of viral colds
• to alleviate common cold symptoms, especially cough
• to be demonstrably healthier two days faster
• to prevent bacterial infection in the affected mucous membranes

How are Kaloba® Direct Granules used?
Kaloba® is a herbal medicine made from Pelargonium root (Pelargonii radix) for the symptomatic treatment of acute bronchial infections with cough and mucus production.
Kaloba® Direct Granules are used in adults, adolescents, and children aged 6 and over.

Adults and adolescents over 12 years:
Adults and adolescents over 12 years take 1 sachet 3 times daily (morning, noon, evening).

Children aged 6 to 11 years:
For children aged between 6 and 11 years, the recommended daily dose is 1 sachet twice daily (morning, evening).

Children aged 1 to 5 years:
Due to its dosage form, Kaloba® Direct Granules are not suitable for children under 6 years of age. Alternatively, the effective cold extract for children between 1 and 5 years is available in the form of Kaloba® drops and Kaloba® syrup.

Active ingredient in Kaloba® Direct Granules
Active ingredient:
Dry extract from Pelargonium root (Pelargonii radix) (drug extract ratio (DER) 4 -25 : 1) (EPs® 7630). The extractant is ethanol 11% (m/m).
1 sachet with 800 mg granules contains 20 mg dry extract from Pelargonium root (Pelargonii radix) as the active ingredient.

Other ingredients:
Maltodextrin, xylitol, highly dispersed silicon dioxide.
