What are Kaloba®-20 mg film-coated tablets?
Kaloba® is an effective phytotherapeutic drug, whose proven active ingredient is derived from the South African Cape Pelargonium. In technical terms, this medicinal plant is called Pelargonium sidoides. Its antibacterial, antiviral and expectorant active ingredients are primarily found in the root of the plant (Pelargonii radix). This powerful effect was also used against tuberculosis in Europe in the past. However, the unique, modern root extract in Kaloba®-20 mg film-coated tablets is now used as follows:
- for the symptomatic treatment of acute bronchial infections
- when coughing with mucus production is to be treated with herbal remedies
- for combating the causes of virally induced cold symptoms
- to alleviate common cold symptoms – especially coughing
- to recover two days faster
- to prevent a secondary infection in the mucous membranes attacked by viruses
- to promote the removal of pathogens by loosening mucus
Special features of Kaloba®-20 mg film-coated tablets
Kaloba® is primarily characterized by its unparalleled study record in the field of herbal medicines. The research on the root extract from the Cape Pelargonium contained in Kaloba® is internationally among the most comprehensive studies of herbal cold extracts. As a result, the disease-duration-shortening, causal, and symptom-relieving effects of Kaloba® have been proven in numerous high-quality studies. In addition to the antiviral, antibacterial, and expectorant triple action, these studies also demonstrated the good tolerability and safety of the herbal medicine. In the dosage form of 20 mg film-coated tablets, Kaloba® is particularly suitable as an effective herbal cold medicine for on the go or when traveling.
Suitable for:
- Diabetics
- Patients with celiac disease
- Patients with lactose intolerance
How are Kaloba®-20 mg film-coated tablets used?
Dosage of Kaloba®-20 mg film-coated tablets:
Ideally, you should take Kaloba®-20 mg film-coated tablets as soon as you notice the first signs of cold symptoms. Furthermore, it is advisable to continue treatment with Kaloba® for some time after the flu-like symptoms have subsided to prevent relapses.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years:
Adults and adolescents over 12 years take one whole tablet three times a day, i.e., in the morning, at noon, and in the evening, with sufficient liquid such as water or unsweetened tea.
Children aged 6 to 11 years:
For children between 6 and 11 years of age, the recommended daily dose is one Kaloba®-20 mg film-coated tablet twice a day. Here, too, care should be taken to take it with sufficient liquid.
Children aged 1 to 5 years:
Kaloba®-20 mg film-coated tablets must NOT be used in children under six years of age. Alternatively, the effective cold extract for children between 1 and 5 years is available in the form of Kaloba® drops and Kaloba® syrup.
