Lactic Acid
Lactic acid, also known as Lactic Acid, is a skin-friendly component of the natural moisturizing factor (NMF) and belongs to the group of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA). It works in the uppermost layer of the skin in a dual way:
- Moisturizing: Lactic acid helps to reduce skin flaking and regulates the pH value of the skin, thereby alleviating dry skin conditions.
- Comedone-reducing effect: By supporting a gentle shedding of skin cells, lactic acid helps to prevent blackheads and contributes to cleansing the pores, leading to a more even skin surface.
