WHAT IS IMODIUM AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
Imodium is an anti-diarrhea medication. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea in children aged 12 and over and adults, provided that no causal therapy is available. Treatment with loperamide hydrochloride exceeding 2 days may only be carried out under medical prescription and monitoring. If you do not feel better or even worse after 2 days, contact your doctor.
HOW TO TAKE IMODIUM?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the recommended dose is:

At the beginning of treatment for acute diarrhea, the initial dose is taken. Thereafter, a repeat dose should be taken after each unformed stool. The recommended maximum daily dose must not be exceeded. Imodium must not be taken by children under 12 years of age. A dose adjustment is not necessary for elderly patients or patients with kidney damage.
If you have severe liver dysfunction, you should only take Imodium on medical prescription. Imodium must not be taken for more than 2 days.
If your symptoms have not improved by then, consult a doctor immediately.
Method of administration
The capsules should be swallowed whole, unchewed, with liquid.
If you have taken a larger quantity of Imodium than you should have
If you have taken too many capsules, you may feel dizzy or have difficulty thinking clearly and performing daily activities. The following symptoms may occur: muscle stiffness, dry mouth, shallow breathing, inability to spontaneously empty a full bladder, nausea and vomiting, gastrointestinal complaints, narrowing of the pupils, constipation, a state of rigidity, coordination disorders, drowsiness, life-threatening disruption of bowel passage due to intestinal paralysis. Contact your doctor immediately. Children may react more sensitively to the effects on the central nervous system than adults.

If you forget to take Imodium
Take one capsule after the next unformed stool. Do not take a double dose if you forgot the previous dose.
