ICHTHOLAN® 50%

Areas of application:
For the maturation of boils and abscesses.
For supportive treatment of gonarthrosis as well as bruises, sprains.

Dosage and method of administration:
Apply to the affected skin in a layer as thick as the back of a knife and cover with a bandage. The dressing should be changed daily. With each dressing change, any ointment residue remaining on the skin must be washed off before a new dressing can be applied. When used as a permanent dressing for musculoskeletal disorders, a special bandaging technique is used:

Ichtholan 50% ointment is applied and covered with a gauze bandage. A wide covering of cellulose layers or paper bandage is placed over it. The bandage is secured with a starch or elastoplast bandage. The dressing remains in place for up to 3 days. If treatment is still required after this, it is recommended to repeat the treatment after removing the dressing and bathing off (e.g. with oil baths) any ointment residue.

Qualitative and quantitative composition:
1 g ointment contains: Ammonium bituminosulfonate 0.50g

Other ingredients with known effect:
Wool fat 17%, Butylhydroxytoluene (as an antioxidant in wool fat) max. 0.0034%
