What is Ibumetin and what is it used for?
One Ibumetin forte 400 mg film-coated tablet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen as an active ingredient. Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (non-steroidal analgesics/anti-rheumatics (NSAIDs)). These medicines have pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory, and fever-reducing effects. Ibumetin is used

• to relieve mild to moderate pain (such as headaches, toothaches, and menstrual pain)
• to relieve pain and fever in colds

If you do not feel better or even worse after 3-4 days, contact your doctor.

How to take Ibumetin?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this package leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:

Adults and adolescents (from 12 years of age):

≥ 40kg (adolescents from 12 years and adults)	1 tablet (corresponding to 400 mg ibuprofen)	3 tablets (corresponding to 1200 mg ibuprofen)

Children (from 6 years of age):
Ibuprofen may only be given to children under 12 years of age under medical prescription.
Ibumetin must not be used in children under 6 years of age.
The tablet can be divided into equal doses.

Elderly people (from 65 years)
No special dose adjustment is required. Due to possible side effects, elderly people should be monitored particularly carefully.

Impaired liver or kidney function
If you suffer from impaired liver or kidney function, speak to your doctor before taking Ibumetin. See also section 2.

Method of administration
For oral use.
Please take Ibumetin whole with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water) during or after a meal. At least 6 hours should pass between two doses.

Duration of use
This medicine is intended for short-term treatment only. You should only take the lowest dose for the shortest time necessary to relieve your symptoms.
Consult your doctor if the use of Ibumetin is required for the treatment of fever for more than 3 days and for the treatment of pain for more than 4 days, or if the symptoms worsen.

If children and adolescents need to take this medicine for more than 3 days or if symptoms worsen, seek medical advice. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you feel that the effect of this medicine is stronger or weaker than you expected.

If you have taken more Ibumetin than you should
Consult a doctor immediately. The following signs may occur: nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), headache, blood in the stool or vomit (gastrointestinal bleeding), dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, disorientation.

Rarely:
Loss of consciousness.

What Ibumetin forte 400 mg contains
The active ingredient is: Ibuprofen. One tablet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen.

The other ingredients are:
Tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose, croscarmellose sodium, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide

Tablet coating:
Hypromellose, talc, titanium dioxide E171

Ibumetin forte 400mg film-coated tablets are white, oblong film-coated tablets with a break notch on both sides.
The tablet can be divided into equal doses.

Note:
Ibumetin 400 contains lactose
This medicinal product contains 26.67 mg of lactose (milk sugar). Please only take Ibumetin after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from a sugar intolerance.
