To open the tube for the first time, pierce the aluminum foil at the opening with the thorn integrated in the tube cap. Apply a 3-5 cm (or more if necessary) strand of gel to the affected area once or several times a day. The treatment duration is usually up to 10 days for blunt trauma and 1-2 weeks for superficial phlebitis.
Good reasons for Hirudoid® Gel
Hirudoid® Gel relieves pain and discomfort from blunt injuries such as contusions, crushes, sprains, and strains by rapidly reducing bruises and swelling. For superficial phlebitis, it supports the regression of inflammation and promotes healing. Due to its anticoagulant effect, it prevents the formation of superficial blood clots and promotes their dissolution, which significantly supports the health of your veins. The promoting effect on tissue regeneration also helps to restore skin and connective tissue after injuries.
Recommended application
Apply Hirudoid® Gel to the affected skin area once or several times a day. The gel can also be used for physical treatment methods such as phonophoresis and iontophoresis; for iontophoresis, it should be applied under the cathode.
Important notes: Hirudoid® Gel must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or other ingredients, on open injuries, inflammations, purulent processes or skin infections, as well as on the eyes and mucous membranes. Propylene glycol can cause skin irritation. There is insufficient experience in children and adolescents, therefore use in this age group is not recommended. If symptoms persist or if the expected success is not achieved, medical advice is required as soon as possible.

Product details:
They are unpleasant for every woman: swollen veins that lead to varicose veins. Although they can form on any veins in the body, they occur 90 percent of the time on the legs. Varicose veins indicate that the superficial venous system is diseased (thrombophlebitis).
It is not comforting that these vein diseases are among the most common ailments in Germany. Women are affected two to four times more often than men. However, only about twelve percent of those affected show such pronounced formation of varicose veins that medical treatment is necessary.
In the vast majority of cases, sufficient exercise, avoiding excessive heat such as saunas or sunbathing, and circulation-boosting alternating showers are effective measures for prevention and limiting symptoms. The tried and tested rule "better to lie or walk than to sit or stand" also contributes to reducing the risk of vein diseases. Hirudoid® supports the healing of superficial vein diseases and counteracts inflammation of existing varicose veins.
In cases of existing inflammation with associated swelling, the ingredient in Hirudoid®-Gel - chondroitin - unfolds a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect. It can prevent the formation of swelling, promote the regression of superficial microthrombi (tiny blood clots), and shorten the duration of the illness.
