Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis, now also Salvia rosmarinus) belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae) and is one of the most well-known Mediterranean spice and aromatic plants. The evergreen plant is originally from the Mediterranean region and has been valued in European phytology for centuries.
