FRONTPRO® 136 mg is a chewable tablet for the treatment of flea and tick infestations in dogs. The active ingredient afoxolaner works from within and offers long-lasting parasite protection that is not affected by bathing, swimming, or shampooing.

This variant with 136 mg of afoxolaner is intended for dogs with a body weight of over 25 to 50 kg.

What is it for?

FRONTPRO® is used for the treatment of flea and tick infestations in dogs.

The chewable tablet:

• kills fleas within 8 hours

• controls an existing tick infestation within 48 hours

• is effective against fleas for up to 5 weeks

• is effective against ticks for up to 1 month

• kills adult fleas before they can lay eggs

• thereby supports the control of a flea infestation in the home environment

Properties and effect

FRONTPRO® contains the active ingredient afoxolaner from the isoxazoline class. After ingestion, the active ingredient is absorbed and acts against fleas and ticks via their nervous system.

Application and dosage

FRONTPRO® can be administered directly or together with food.

1. Take one chewable tablet from the packaging.

2. Give it to the dog directly or with food.

3. Ensure that the tablet is completely consumed and swallowed.

For dogs over 25 to 50 kg, one FRONTPRO® 136 mg chewable tablet is used in accordance with the package leaflet.

How often should it be used?

The effect against fleas lasts for up to 5 weeks, the effect against ticks for up to 1 month.

Regular monthly treatment may be necessary for continuous protection. The application should be carried out in accordance with the package leaflet.

In case of a severe flea infestation

FRONTPRO® kills adult fleas before they can lay eggs. However, flea eggs, larvae, and pupae already present in the environment can continue to develop and hatch later.

In the case of a severe flea infestation, consistent cleaning and treatment of the environment may therefore be necessary in addition.

Important information

FRONTPRO® is intended exclusively for dogs and must not be used on cats or other animal species.

The following strengths are available for dogs:

• 2–4 kg: 11.3 mg afoxolaner

• over 4–10 kg: 28.3 mg afoxolaner

• over 10–25 kg: 68 mg afoxolaner

• over 25–50 kg: 136 mg afoxolaner

For dogs over 50 kg body weight, an appropriate combination of different strengths may be required in accordance with the package leaflet.

Afoxolaner should be used with particular caution in dogs with epilepsy or other known seizure disorders. In case of doubt, consult a veterinarian before use.

If a dog has accidentally ingested several chewable tablets, a veterinarian should be contacted immediately.

Side effects and tolerance

Afoxolaner belongs to the isoxazoline class of active ingredients. Side effects may include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, loss of appetite, and pruritus (itching). In very rare cases, neurological reactions such as seizures may occur.

Particular caution is advised in dogs with epilepsy or other seizure disorders.
