Protect your dog and cat from annoying parasites! With FRONTLINE Spray against ticks, fleas and biting lice.
FRONTLINE Spray is a propellant-free pump spray and offers many advantages:
Reliable protection: Ticks are killed within 48 hours and adult fleas within 24 hours.
Works on contact: Parasites do not absorb the active ingredient by sucking blood, but already upon
contact with the animal. Ticks are killed within 48 hours and adult fleas within 24 hours.
Well tolerated: FRONTLINE Spray is suitable for puppies and kittens from their 1st day of life, as well as for pregnant and lactating animals!
Easy to use: The active ingredient is simply sprayed onto the fur and then massaged in.
How does FRONTLINE work?
After application, the active ingredient in FRONTLINE Spray spreads over the entire body surface and is stored in the sebaceous glands for 4 weeks. The active ingredient does not penetrate the body. When ticks, fleas or biting lice come into contact with the skin or fur, they are reliably killed within 1-2 days. Contact with the animal is sufficient, and the parasites do not need to bite to be killed.
How quickly does FRONTLINE Spray work?**
- Fleas: 98-100% are killed within 24 hours
- Ticks: over 90% of ticks die within 48 hours
How is FRONTLINE Spray on applied?
Applying FRONTLINE Spray is very simple:
- Prepare the spray bottle. Wear household gloves if possible when applying.
- Adjust the desired spray strength on the spray head.
- Lift the animal's fur and spray against the grain with the bottle held upright until it is well moistened. Spray 2 to 4 pump strokes (depending on fur length) per kilogram of body weight onto the fur and skin from a distance of approx. 10-20 cm.
- Then massage well so that the active ingredient solution reaches the skin.
- For the head, put some spray solution on your gloved hand and rub it onto the animal's face. Avoid the animal's eyes and nose!
- Do not rub the animal dry afterwards, but let it air dry naturally in a well-ventilated room or outdoors.
Please note:
- The natural skin condition of the animal is the optimal basis for the distribution and storage of the active ingredient solution. However, intensive bathing before or after treatment (within 48 hours) can impair distribution. FRONTLINE products are waterproof after the distribution period.
- For successful treatment, it is important that all dogs and cats living in the household are treated simultaneously and regularly. Untreated animals – both cats and dogs – can, especially in the case of flea infestation, repeatedly re-infect the others.
- In the event of a flea infestation, it is also very important to rid the environment of fleas. Otherwise, your pet can be re-infested again and again. For this purpose, you should vacuum daily and very thoroughly (even in corners and edges), wash blankets, textiles, plush toys, etc. at a minimum of 60 degrees, and use products for environmental treatment.
- Important: Do not use FRONTLINE products on rabbits and other small animals!
How often should FRONTLINE Spray be used?
Only if there is continuously sufficient active ingredient can an effect without a protection gap be achieved. FRONTLINE products should be used monthly. Flea infestation is not only a problem in summer and autumn but also in winter. In heated homes, fleas also thrive in the cold season. Therefore, we recommend year-round preventive treatment, especially for indoor pets.
What active ingredient is contained in FRONTLINE Spray and how does it work?
The active ingredient contained in FRONTLINE Spot on is called Fipronil. Fipronil is an active ingredient that disrupts the nerve transmission of insects (e.g. fleas) and arachnids (e.g. ticks), causing the parasites to die. The active ingredient works on invertebrates (arachnids and insects) and not on mammals such as dogs or humans. Within 1-2 days after application, the active ingredient spreads over the superficial, fat-rich skin layer of the entire body. Fipronil is fat-soluble and is stored in the sebaceous glands. From there, the active ingredient is continuously released with the sebum onto the skin and into the fur.
