FRONTLINE® Spray is a propellant-free veterinary medicine for the prevention and treatment of fleas, ticks, and biting lice in dogs and cats. The active ingredient it contains, fipronil, works upon contact with the parasites.

The spray can be used on puppies and kittens from 1 day of age, as well as on pregnant and lactating animals.

What is it intended for?

FRONTLINE® Spray is used for the prevention and treatment of ectoparasite infestations in dogs and cats.

It is effective against:

• Fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.)

• Ticks (Rhipicephalus spp., Ixodes spp.)

• Dog biting lice (Trichodectes canis)

• Cat biting lice (Felicola subrostratus)

By eliminating or preventing flea infestations, it can also help alleviate existing flea allergies in dogs or prevent them from developing.

Properties and Effect

FRONTLINE® Spray contains fipronil. After application, the active ingredient spreads across the superficial, lipid-rich layer of the skin and is stored in the sebaceous glands. From there, it is continuously distributed over the skin and coat.

Application

Lift the animal's fur and spray against the grain, holding the bottle upright, until the fur is well dampened.

Depending on coat length, spray 2 to 4 pumps per kilogram of body weight onto the fur and skin from a distance of about 10 to 20 cm.

Afterward, massage the solution in well so that it reaches the skin.

For treatment of the head area, spray a small amount onto a gloved hand and carefully rub it into the fur. Avoid the eyes and nose.

Do not towel-dry the animal afterward; let it dry naturally in a well-ventilated room or outdoors.

Wear household gloves if possible during application.

How often should it be applied?

For continuous protection, FRONTLINE® should be applied regularly in accordance with the package insert.

Monthly application may be necessary to maintain consistent protection.

Information on application and environment

Intensive bathing should be avoided for 48 hours before or after treatment, as this may impair the distribution of the active ingredient.

In the case of a flea infestation, all suitable dogs and cats in the household should be treated at the same time. Additionally, the environment should be thoroughly cleaned. Regular vacuuming as well as washing suitable textiles, pet bedding, and toys at at least 60 °C can support flea control.

Important notes

Do not use on rabbits or other small animals.

FRONTLINE® 0.5 ml / 1.5 ml pump spray is intended for dogs and cats.

Indications: For the prophylaxis and treatment of ectoparasites in dogs and cats; highly effective against fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.) and ticks (Rhipicephalus spp., Ixodes spp.). Frontline controls infestation by the dog biting louse (Trichodectes canis) in dogs and the cat biting louse (Felicola subrostratus) in cats.
