Protect your cat from annoying parasites! With FRONTLINE Spot-on against ticks, fleas and biting lice.
FRONTLINE Spot-on offers many advantages:
Reliable protection: Ticks are killed within 48 h and adult fleas within 24 h.
Works on contact: Parasites do not absorb the active ingredient by blood-sucking, but already on
contact with the animal. Ticks are killed within 48 h and adult fleas within 24 h.
Well tolerated: FRONTLINE Spot-on is suitable for kittens from 12 weeks of age and also for pregnant and lactating cats!
Easy to use: The active ingredient is simply applied to the skin in the neck area with a pipette.
How does FRONTLINE work?
After application, the active ingredient of FRONTLINE Spot-on spreads over the entire body surface and is stored there for 4 weeks in the sebaceous glands. The active ingredient therefore does not penetrate the body. When ticks, fleas or biting lice come into contact with the skin or fur, they are reliably killed within 1-2 days. Contact with the animal is therefore sufficient and the parasites do not need to bite to be killed.
How quickly does FRONTLINE Spot-on work?**
- Fleas: 98-100% are killed within 24 hours
- Ticks: over 90% of ticks die within 48 hours
How is FRONTLINE Spot-on applied?
The application of FRONTLINE Spot-on is very simple - the active ingredient solution is applied directly to the skin using a pipette:
- Remove one pipette from the packaging.
- Hold the pipette tip upright, tap the tip briefly with your finger (so that the entire solution is in the lower part of the pipette) and break it off at the perforated point.
- Part the animal's fur between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible.
- Place the tip of the pipette directly onto the skin and apply the active ingredient solution completely to the skin. Empty the pipette completely by squeezing it several times.
The active ingredient then spreads over the entire body surface of the animal within 1-2 days.
Please note:
- The natural skin condition of the animal is the optimal basis for the distribution and storage of the active ingredient solution. However, intensive bathing before or after treatment (within 48 hours) can impair distribution. FRONTLINE products are waterproof after the distribution period.
- For dogs, also pay attention to the pipette size according to weight. Too low a dosage can impair the success of the treatment. FRONTLINE® products are available for cats and dogs in species-appropriate and optimally matched pipette sizes.
- For the success of the treatment, it is also important that all dogs and cats living in the household are treated simultaneously and regularly. Because untreated animals - both cats and dogs - can repeatedly infect others, especially in the case of flea infestation.
- In the event of a flea infestation, it is also very important to free the environment from fleas. Otherwise, your pet can be re-infested again and again. To do this, you should vacuum daily and very thoroughly (including in corners and edges), wash blankets, textiles, plush toys, etc. at min. 60 degrees and use preparations for environmental treatment.
- Important: Do not use FRONTLINE products on rabbits and other small animals!
How often should FRONTLINE Spot-on be applied?
Only if continuously sufficient active ingredient is present can an effect without a protection gap be ensured. FRONTLINE products should be applied monthly. Flea infestation is not only a problem in summer and autumn, but also in winter. In heated apartments, fleas feel comfortable even in the cold season. Therefore, we recommend year-round preventive treatment, especially for indoor animals.
Which active ingredient is contained in FRONTLINE Spot-on and how does it work?
The active ingredient contained in FRONTLINE Spot-on is called fipronil. Fipronil is an active ingredient that disrupts the nerve conduction of insects (e.g. fleas) and arachnids (e.g. ticks), causing the parasites to die. The active ingredient works on invertebrates (arachnids and insects) and not on mammals such as dogs or humans. Within 1-2 days after application, the active ingredient spreads over the superficial, fatty skin layer of the entire body. Fipronil is fat-soluble and is stored in the sebaceous glands. From there, the active ingredient is continuously released with the sebum onto the skin and into the fur.
