How does FRONTLINE TRI-ACT work?
After application, the active ingredient solution of FRONTLINE TRI-ACT spreads over the entire body surface and is stored in the sebaceous glands for 4 weeks. The active ingredient does not penetrate the body. The repellent effect ensures that parasites are kept away before they can settle on the dog and bite. In addition, ticks, fleas or flying insects are reliably killed within 6 hours if they come into contact with skin or fur. Contact with the dog is sufficient, so the parasites do not need to bite to be killed.

 How is FRONTLINE TRI-ACT applied?

FRONTLINE TRI-ACT is a spot-on product and its application is very simple – the active ingredient solution is applied directly to the skin with a pipette:

• Take a pipette from the package.
• Hold the pipette tip upright, tap the tip briefly with your finger (so that all the solution is at the bottom of the pipette) and break it off at the perforated point.
• Part your dog's fur in two places on the neck until the skin is visible.
• Place the tip of the pipette directly on the skin and apply the active ingredient solution completely to both skin areas. Empty the pipette completely by squeezing it several times.

The active ingredient then spreads over the entire body surface of the dog within 1-2 days.

Please note:

• The dog's natural skin condition is the ideal basis for the distribution and storage of the active ingredient solution. However, intensive bathing before or after treatment (within 48 hours) can affect distribution. FRONTLINE products are waterproof after the distribution period.
• Always pay attention to the pipette size according to the weight. Too low a dosage can impair the success of the treatment. FRONTLINE TRI-ACT is available for dogs in 5 different weight classes.
• For treatment success, it is also important that all dogs living in the household are treated simultaneously and regularly. Untreated animals can re-infect others, especially in case of flea infestation.
• CAUTION: FRONTLINE TRI-ACT is not suitable for cats! Please do not use on cats under any circumstances! (For cats, please only use our product FRONTLINE Spot On Cat!)
• In case of a flea infestation, it is also crucial to rid the environment of fleas. Otherwise, your dog could be re-infested again and again. Therefore, you should vacuum thoroughly daily (including in corners and edges), wash blankets, textiles, toys, etc. at a minimum of 60 degrees, and use products for environmental treatment.
• Important: FRONTLINE TRI-ACT, like all FRONTLINE products, should never be used on rabbits and other small animals!

How often should FRONTLINE TRI-ACT be applied?
Only if a sufficient amount of active ingredient is continuously present can uninterrupted effectiveness be ensured. FRONTLINE products should be applied monthly. Flea infestation is not only a problem in summer and autumn, but also in winter. In heated homes, fleas thrive even in the cold season. Therefore, we recommend year-round preventive treatment, especially for indoor pets.
FRONTLINE TRI-ACT is particularly well suited for holiday trips with dogs, as flying insects are common especially in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean regions and
also pose a great health risk for holiday travel.

What active ingredients are contained in FRONTLINE TRI-ACT and how do they work?
FRONTLINE TRI-ACT contains a combination of fipronil and permethrin. Fipronil is an active ingredient that disrupts signal transmission in insects (e.g., fleas) and arachnids (e.g., ticks), causing the parasites to die. The active ingredient works on invertebrates (arachnids and insects), but not on mammals such as dogs or humans. Permethrin has a repellent and killing effect against ticks and flying insects, as well as a killing effect against fleas.

1-2 days after application, the combination of active ingredients spreads over the superficial, fatty layer of the skin throughout the body. The active ingredients are fat-soluble and are stored in the sebaceous glands. From there, they are continuously released onto the skin and into the fur along with the sebum.
