COLDAMARIS plus Nasenspray

What is COLDAMARIS plus?
COLDAMARIS plus can be used to support the treatment of common colds (flu-like infections) of viral origin. COLDAMARIS plus can also be used for preventive and continuous moisturising of the nasal mucous membrane. The preventive effect of COLDAMARIS plus is based on the continuous moisturising of the nasal mucous membrane. For use in adults and children aged one year and older.

COLDAMARIS plus contains no preservatives. A sterile filter ensures the sterility of the solution even after repeated use.

What does COLDAMARIS plus contain?
COLDAMARIS plus is a clear, colourless, viscous solution with no odour. 1 ml of solution contains 1.2 mg iota-carrageenan (Carragelose®) and 0.4 mg kappa-carrageenan, sodium chloride and purified water. Carragelose® is a marine active ingredient derived from red algae.

What are the properties of COLDAMARIS plus?
Low humidity can cause the nasal mucous membrane to dry out. However, the nose can only fulfil its filtering function if the nasal mucous membrane is sufficiently moisturised. COLDAMARIS plus forms a moisturising protective film on the nasal mucous membrane.
This film acts as a physical barrier against external influences. The continuous moisturising can prevent the development of colds and flu-like infections due to cold viruses.

The nose is the most common route of infection for viruses that cause common colds (flu-like infections). Flu-like infections are caused by viruses such as rhinoviruses and coronaviruses. Once viruses have entered the nose, they can attach themselves to the mucous membrane. There they multiply and spread. The consequence of this are typical cold symptoms such as a stuffy or runny nose, sore throat and/or headache, cough, etc.

In the early stages of an illness, it is often impossible to determine with certainty whether it is a common cold or true influenza. Influenza is a potentially serious illness; a doctor is needed for a clear diagnosis.

Indications - What is COLDAMARIS plus used for?

• COLDAMARIS plus can shorten the duration of common colds, alleviate symptoms and reduce the recurrence of virus-related cold symptoms.
• COLDAMARIS plus is used for moisturising dry or irritated nasal mucous membrane and thus for the prophylaxis and supportive treatment of all complaints resulting from dry or irritated nasal mucous membrane.

Dosage and method of administration
How and how often is COLDAMARIS plus used?
At the first signs of a cold (e.g. tingling or runny nose, etc.), spray one puff into each nostril at least 3 times a day. Treatment should begin as soon as possible after the onset of the first cold symptoms and continue until symptoms subside. If there is also fever or if symptoms do not improve after 1 week, a doctor should be consulted.

To moisturise a dry nasal mucous membrane, spray several puffs into the nose several times a day as needed. Before use, remove the protective cap and, if necessary, pump a few times until a uniform spray mist is discharged. COLDAMARIS plus is now ready for use. Insert the spray head carefully and not too deeply into the nose to avoid injury! Hold the bottle upright when spraying. Replace the protective cap after use.
