What is COLDAMARIS akut?
COLDAMARIS akut helps to decongest the nasal mucous membrane in case of a blocked nose, thereby facilitating breathing.

It supports the treatment of blocked noses in the context of common colds (flu-like infections) of viral origin, allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, and sinusitis. No habituation effect occurs.
Suitable for adults and children from one year of age.

Areas of application – What is COLDAMARIS akut used for?
COLDAMARIS akut has a decongestant effect on blocked noses, especially in flu-like infections of viral origin, allergic or non-allergic rhinitis, and sinusitis.

Furthermore, COLDAMARIS akut can shorten the duration of cold illnesses, relieve symptoms, and reduce the recurrence of virus-related cold symptoms.

What are the properties of COLDAMARIS akut?
The nose is the most common entry route for viruses that cause colds or flu-like infections. Typical pathogens include rhinoviruses and coronaviruses. If these enter the nose, they can attach to the mucous membrane, multiply there, and spread further.

This results in typical cold symptoms such as a blocked or runny nose, sore throat and/or headache, and coughing. A blocked nose is caused by the swelling of the mucous membrane due to increased fluid retention.

In people with allergic rhinitis (e.g., hay fever), an additional infection with cold viruses can worsen existing allergic symptoms. These patients can therefore also benefit from the combined mode of action of COLDAMARIS akut.

The hypertonic solution in COLDAMARIS akut draws excess fluid from the tissue. This allows the nasal mucous membrane to decongest, making breathing easier.

In addition, the contained Carragelose® forms a protective film on the nasal mucous membrane. This acts as a physical barrier against external influences, such as the penetration of cold viruses.

Dosage and method of use – How and how often is COLDAMARIS akut applied?
For a blocked nose, apply one spray into each nostril several times a day. There is no risk of overdose.

Before first use, remove the protective cap and, if necessary, pump a few times until a uniform spray mist is produced. The product is then ready for use.

Carefully insert the spray head into the nose, not too deeply, to avoid injury. Keep the bottle upright during use. Replace the protective cap after use.

When should COLDAMARIS akut not be used?
In case of known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Possible side effects of COLDAMARIS akut
To date, no interactions or side effects are known, apart from very rare cases of hypersensitivity reactions.
No studies on possible interactions with other products are available.
