What is Cetirizine Genericon and what is it used for?
Cetirizine Genericon is an antihistamine, a medicine for the treatment of allergies and their effects.

Cetirizine Genericon is used in children from 6 years of age, adolescents and adults for the relief of symptoms in allergic diseases such as:

• chronic urticaria with symptoms such as itching, hives, skin redness
• chronic allergic rhinitis, hay fever with symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose, blocked nose, redness or itching of the eyes and watery eyes

If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 days, contact your doctor.

How to take Cetirizine Genericon?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Take Cetirizine Genericon without chewing, with liquid. This can be done independently of meals, preferably in the evening.

The tablet can be divided into equal doses.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the recommended dose is:

Adults and adolescents from 12 years of age:
1 film-coated tablet daily in the evening.

Children between 6 and 12 years of age:
Children aged 6–12 years receive a dose adapted to their body weight:

Body weight under 30 kg: ½ film-coated tablet once daily.

Body weight over 30 kg: 1 film-coated tablet once daily or preferably ½ film-coated tablet twice daily (morning and evening).

The use of Cetirizine Genericon is not recommended for children between 2 and 6 years due to the dosage form. In this age group, child-friendly dosage forms should be used.

Infants and children under 2 years of age:
Cetirizine Genericon should not be used as there is insufficient experience.

If you have taken more Cetirizine Genericon than you should
If you have taken more Cetirizine Genericon than you should, inform a doctor immediately.

Your doctor will then decide what measures, if any, should be taken.

If you forget to take Cetirizine Genericon
Do not take a double dose if you have forgotten the previous dose.

If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you notice.

If the next dose is almost due, skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the usual time.

If you stop taking Cetirizine Genericon
Never stop the treatment on your own initiative, as this can worsen your condition again.

Talk to your doctor before stopping treatment with Cetirizine Genericon.

What Cetirizine Genericon contains:
The active ingredient is cetirizine dihydrochloride.
1 film-coated tablet contains 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride.

The other ingredients are:
Tablet core: Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, talc, corn starch.

Tablet coating:
Opadry white consisting of hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, titanium dioxide (E 171), macrogol 4000 and sodium citrate.
