Canesten® Clotrimazole 0.5 g Soft Gel Pessary for the Treatment of Vaginal Thrush

Canesten® Clotrimazole 0.5 g soft capsule – effective against vaginal thrush
Vaginal thrush is a vaginal infection caused by fungal pathogens. This occurs when the vaginal flora becomes imbalanced. The fungi cause vaginitis, which is accompanied by typical symptoms. These include:

• Burning and itching in the intimate area
• Whitish, lumpy discharge from the vagina
• Redness of the external intimate area

The Canesten® Clotrimazole 0.5 g soft capsule with clotrimazole is effective against vaginal thrush and thus leads to the relief of symptoms. In just one application, the proven active ingredient combats the fungal pathogens in the vagina. It also counteracts bacteria that can cause a vaginal infection.
The included applicator makes the treatment particularly easy and comfortable. The drop-shaped soft capsule is easy to insert and dissolves quickly. Therefore, it is also suitable for women who suffer from vaginal dryness.
Application of Canesten® Clotrimazole Gyn 1-day soft capsule
The soft capsule can be easily inserted using the practical applicator. The treatment is best done in the evening before going to bed.

• Pull the applicator plunger out of the applicator and place the soft capsule into the open end of the applicator.
• Lie on your back and place your feet flat. Spread your legs.
• Carefully insert the applicator into the vagina. Slowly push the applicator plunger back into the applicator to place the soft capsule inside the vagina.
• Carefully withdraw the applicator from the vagina.

Alternatively, you can insert the Canesten® Clotrimazole 0.5 g soft capsule into the vagina with your finger without an applicator. This is especially recommended during pregnancy to avoid injuries to the cervix. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use - during the first three months of pregnancy, you should always consult your doctor before use. Treatment with the Canesten® soft capsule is not recommended during menstruation.

How the Canesten® soft capsule works
One Canesten® Clotrimazole Gyn 1-day soft capsule contains 0.5 grams of the broad-spectrum active ingredient clotrimazole. This combats all fungal pathogens that can cause a vaginal infection. Thanks to the active ingredient, which is already dissolved in the semi-liquid core of the soft capsule, all relevant pathogens are inhibited in their growth and killed. In addition to its antifungal properties against fungi, clotrimazole also acts on some bacteria that can cause a vaginal infection. Due to the special dosage, a single application is usually sufficient to effectively combat vaginal thrush.

Important notes
If symptoms have not significantly improved within seven days, consult a doctor's office to confirm the cause of the infection. If symptoms worsen, medical advice should also be sought.
