Canephron® forte is a herbal medicinal product for the treatment of acute, uncomplicated urinary tract infections. The combination of centaury, rosemary leaves, and lovage root relieves pain and burning during urination, relieves spasms, and supports the flushing out of bacteria.

What is it for?

Canephron® forte is used for acute, uncomplicated urinary tract infections in adults and adolescents aged 12 and over.

Typical symptoms of a bladder infection are frequent urges to urinate, pain and burning during urination, spasms, and abdominal discomfort. Canephron® forte can be used at the first sign of symptoms.

The 4-fold effect of Canephron® forte

The triple herbal combination of centaury, rosemary leaves, and lovage root provides a 4-fold effect:

• Analgesic: Relieves pain and burning during urination.

• Anti-inflammatory: Counteracts inflammatory symptoms of the urinary tract.

• Antispasmodic: Relaxes the bladder and can reduce the uncomfortable urge to urinate.

• Flushes out bacteria: Counteracts the adhesion of bacteria and supports their expulsion.

Application and dosage

Canephron® forte is suitable for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over.

The recommended daily dose is 3 tablets:

• 1 tablet in the morning

• 1 tablet at noon

• 1 tablet in the evening

Take the tablets with sufficient liquid. During treatment, ensure you consume enough fluids, unless a medical restriction on fluid intake is required.

Duration of use

Canephron® forte should not be taken for longer than 2 weeks without consulting a doctor.

The duration of use is generally not limited. However, long-term use should take place under medical supervision.

If symptoms persist for a long time, recur, or worsen, a doctor should be consulted.

Taking with other medicines

No interactions between Canephron® forte and other medicines are known.

Nevertheless, please note the information in the package leaflet and inform your doctor or pharmacist about other medicines you are taking.

How does a bladder infection occur?

A bladder infection, also known as cystitis, is often caused by bacteria from the intestinal flora. These enter the bladder through the urethra and can cause inflammation of the bladder lining.

Contributing factors may include low fluid intake, cold, sexual intercourse, certain intimate hygiene practices, and hormonal changes.

How can you prevent a bladder infection?

Some measures can help reduce the risk of a bladder infection:

• Drink enough fluids

• Keep the kidney and pelvic area warm

• Change wet swimwear quickly

• Avoid sitting on cold surfaces for long periods

• Clean the genital area gently

• In the genital area, wipe from front to back

• Empty your bladder after sexual intercourse

Canephron® forte is a traditional herbal medicinal product, the use of which for uncomplicated urinary tract infections is based on many years of experience.

In case of fever, blood in the urine, severe pain, pain in the kidney area, urinary retention, or a significant worsening of symptoms, medical advice should be sought.

Canephron® forte contains, among other things, lactose, sucrose, and glucose.

Side effects and tolerance

Like all medicines, Canephron® forte can cause side effects, although these do not occur in everyone.
