The effectiveness of Candibene 100 mg vaginal tablets is directed against practically all pathogens that can cause fungal vaginal infections. Furthermore, it works against some bacteria and certain single-celled organisms (trichomonads). The active ingredient clotrimazole contained in Candibene 100 mg vaginal tablets inhibits the growth of fungi or kills them. Clotrimazole acts on the mucous membrane surface, is quickly absorbed into the mucous membrane, and is also effective in deeper mucous membrane layers. Candibene 100 mg vaginal tablets are colorless and odorless and generally well tolerated.

Candibene 100 mg vaginal tablets are used for

• infectious discharge caused by fungi (Candida),
• vaginal inflammation caused by fungi (mostly Candida species) and/or trichomonads (certain single-celled organisms),
• re-infection in the case of an existing primary infection (so-called superinfection) with bacteria that are sensitive to the active ingredient clotrimazole contained in Candibene.

For reliable elimination of Trichomonas vaginalis infections, your doctor may prescribe an additional antibiotic.

If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 days, contact your doctor.

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
Candibene 100 mg vaginal tablets are inserted deep into the vagina once a day – in the evening before going to bed – for 6 consecutive days with the help of the applicator.

Note:
Vaginal tablets need moisture to dissolve completely. In case of vaginal dryness, the vaginal tablet may dissolve incompletely. This can be recognized by the excretion of crumbly tablet parts. To prevent this, it is important to insert the tablet as deeply as possible, preferably before going to bed.
In the case of diagnosed inflammation of the glans and foreskin of the partner due to yeast fungi, a local treatment with suitable preparations must also be carried out for him.
