What is BRONCHOSTOP® Bronchitis akut and what is it used for?
BRONCHOSTOP® Bronchitis akut is a herbal remedy for the treatment of productive cough in acute bronchitis as part of a cold.
It can be used by adults and children aged 6 and over.
If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 7 days, a doctor should be consulted.
Instructions for use and dosage
Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over:
- 34 drops 5 times daily
- maximum daily dose: 170 drops
Children aged 6–11 years:
- 29 drops 3 to 5 times daily
- maximum daily dose: 145 drops
Children under 6 years:
Method of administration
- Oral
- Take undiluted if possible (e.g. on sugar)
- Can also be diluted with water or warm tea
Duration of use
- If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 7 days, a doctor should be consulted.
Notes
Overdose:
- Possible symptoms: stomach discomfort, nausea or diarrhea
- Contact a doctor
Missed dose:
- Do not take a double dose
Special notes:
- Contains alcohol
- Not recommended for use in young children
Ingredients
Active ingredients per 1 ml (approx. 31 drops):
- 392 mg thyme liquid extract
- 196 mg primrose root tincture
Other ingredients:
- Glycerol 99.5%
- Sucralose
- Purified water
- Ethanol 96%
- Glycerol 85%
- Betadex
- Peppermint oil
- Methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate
- Propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate
- Concentrated ammonia solution

- Total ethanol content: approx. 35% V/V
Side effects
As with all medicines, side effects may occur, though not necessarily in every patient.
Possible side effects:
- Gastrointestinal discomfort
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Allergic reactions
If breathing difficulties, skin reactions or swelling occur, stop taking the medicine immediately and consult a doctor.
