When is BIOGELAT UroAkut® D-Mannose plus Cranberry Granules used?
BIOGELAT UroAkut® D-Mannose plus Cranberry Granules are used for the dietary management of acute and recurrent urinary tract infections. The product is not only suitable for acute cases, but also for recurrent urinary tract infections, which affect over 30% of women who have already had a urinary tract infection.

The special combination of active ingredients, D-mannose and cranberry, prevents bacteria from adhering to the mucous membrane of the efferent urinary tract. The bacteria are thus flushed out with the urine.

How do the ingredients of BIOGELAT UroAkut® D-Mannose plus Cranberry Granules work?

D-Mannose
D-mannose is a natural bioactive monosaccharide found in small amounts in fruits and berries (such as apples, pineapples, and cranberries). D-mannose also occurs naturally in the urinary tract in small amounts to protect the body from harmful bacteria – and thus from painful and unpleasant bladder and urinary tract infections.

If bacterial colonization and inflammation of the urinary tract still occur, an increased intake of D-mannose supports the elimination of pathogens. Most urinary tract infections are caused by Escherichia coli bacteria, which attach to the surface of the mucous membrane in the urinary tract and lead to inflammation.

D-mannose has the property of preventing bacteria from adhering to the mucous membrane. The bacteria therefore cannot attach themselves and are flushed out of the urinary tract with the urine.

Cranberry Fruit
The cranberry fruit contains many health-promoting ingredients, such as the secondary plant compounds proanthocyanidins (PAC). PAC can contribute to the health of the urinary tract by preventing bacteria (such as Escherichia coli) from adhering to the mucous membranes of the urinary tract.

Laboratory studies confirm this anti-adhesion effect of bacteria with a daily intake of 36 mg PAC. A special concentration process during extract production ensures the required amount of active ingredient PAC in BIOGELAT UroAkut® D-Mannose plus Cranberry Granules.

Anti-adhesive effect of D-mannose and cranberry D-mannose and cranberry PAC block the adhesion of bacteria to the mucous membrane of the urinary tract in different ways. Thus, both active ingredients complement each other ideally and can prevent the vast majority of bacteria from settling in the urinary tract.

Vitamins C and D3
Vitamin C protects body cells from oxidative damage. Vitamin D3 supports the immune system. The special combination of D-mannose and cranberry extract of purely plant origin therefore offers you optimal support in the dietary management of acute and recurrent urinary tract infections.

Recommended intake:

For acute urinary tract infection:
Days 1-3: take 1 sachet in the morning and evening with sufficient water. If necessary, an additional dose can be taken at midday.
From day 4: take 1 sachet daily, preferably in the evening before going to bed, until the symptoms have completely subsided.

For recurrent urinary tract infection:
Take 1 sachet daily in the evening before going to bed over a longer period.

Preparation instructions:
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a glass of water (approx. 200 ml) and drink slowly. BIOGELAT UroAkut® D-Mannose plus Cranberry Granules dissolve immediately and can be taken as a hot or cold drink. To maintain the desired high concentration of D-mannose in the bladder, it is recommended not to drink a larger amount of liquid immediately after consumption.

In some cases, the urine may smell intensely after the first dose. This is a positive sign of flushing out bacteria. Higher doses of D-mannose could have a slightly laxative effect with long-term use. D-mannose is metabolized more slowly in the body than normal glucose. Therefore, it is also suitable for diabetics.

Blood sugar should be checked as a precaution before starting intake.

Notes:
