Betadona® Wound Gel

Betadona® Wound Gel is suitable for the initial treatment of small, superficial wounds and minor burns. For example, for wounds on elbows, joints or under bandages. Chronic wounds can also be treated with Betadona® for a limited time.
Ideal for:

• Abrasions
• Scratches
• Lacerations
• Torn wounds
• Cuts
• Minor burns

Application:

• Apply once or several times daily to the affected area until it is visibly covered with the yellow-brown povidone-iodine gel.
• If discoloration occurs, reapplication is necessary.
• In newborns under 6 months, Betadona® Wound Gel should only be used after a strict benefit/risk assessment by a physician and very sparingly.
• If necessary, or to protect clothing, a bandage can be applied over it.

Ingredients:
Povidone-Iodine 1 g Betadona Wound Gel contains 100 mg Povidone-Iodine complex, total content: 1% available iodine. The other ingredients are: Macrogol, purified water, sodium bicarbonate.

Betadona® Wound Gel with the active ingredient povidone-iodine has a comprehensive germicidal effect and is effective against bacteria, fungi, spores, viruses and certain protozoa. Moreover, such wound disinfection promotes rapid, problem-free healing.
The wound gel constantly releases iodine, which is well tolerated by skin, mucous membranes and wounds. This free iodine inactivates and kills pathogens. In doing so, the iodine discolors. If the product loses its yellowish-brown color, it must be reapplied if further effect is desired.
