Product Information & Legal Notices
Betadona® Wound Gel – Fast and safe wound treatment.
Product Description
Betadona® Wound Gel is ideal for the initial treatment of small, superficial injuries and minor burns.
It is particularly suitable for wounds on elbows, joints or under bandages. Chronic wounds can also be temporarily treated with Betadona®.
Optimal for:
Abrasions
Scratches
Lacerations
Tears
Cuts
Minor burns
Effect
Betadona® Wound Gel contains povidone-iodine and has a comprehensive germicidal effect, effective against bacteria, fungi, spores, viruses and certain protozoa.
Disinfection of the wound promotes rapid and uncomplicated healing.
The gel continuously releases iodine, which is well tolerated by skin, mucous membranes and wounds. The released iodine inactivates and kills germs. During application, the iodine becomes less intensely colored. If the gel loses its yellow-brown color, it should be re-applied.
Application
Apply to the affected area one to several times daily until it is visibly covered with the yellow-brown povidone-iodine gel.
If the color changes, reapplication should be done.
If necessary, or to protect clothing, a bandage can also be applied.
Notes
In newborns under 6 months, Betadona® Wound Gel may only be used after careful consideration of benefits and risks by a doctor and only to a limited extent.

Like all medicines, Betadona® Wound Gel can cause side effects. Possible reactions include skin irritation or hypersensitivity reactions.
