Prevention after an initial event of strokes and heart attacks with Aspirin® Protect
The benefits of Aspirin® Protect at a glance:
- For the prevention of strokes and heart attacks after initial events, as well as for the prevention of arterial thrombosis after vascular surgical procedures.
- Reduces the clumping of platelets, which reduces the formation of blood clots.
- Suitable for long-term use - thanks to the gastro-resistant film-coated tablets.
Aspirin® Protect for the prevention of cardiovascular events.
Blood clots (thrombi) are the main cause of heart attacks or strokes, as they block important blood vessels in the heart or brain. This leads to a lack of oxygen, which damages the heart and brain. Aspirin® Protect ensures that platelets do not clump together and that blood vessels remain clear. Daily intake of Aspirin® Protect 100 mg helps to reduce the risk of another heart attack or stroke..
How does Aspirin® Protect work and support?
One film-coated tablet of Aspirin® Protect contains 100 milligrams of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA). The proven active ingredient, even in low doses, inhibits the clumping of platelets (thrombocyte aggregation) and counteracts the formation of blood clots. Aspirin® Protect has a special coating that prevents direct contact of acetylsalicylic acid with the stomach lining. This coating is resistant to stomach acid and ensures that the tablets only dissolve in the small intestine, thereby protecting the stomach lining. Therefore, the medication is suitable for long-term treatment. With continuous use, the risk of suffering another heart attack or stroke can be reduced with just one tablet per day.
Taking Aspirin® Protect
The film-coated tablet should be swallowed whole, ideally at least 30 minutes before a meal, with sufficient liquid. The recommended dose for adults is:
- Single dose: 1 film-coated tablet
- Daily dose: 1 film-coated tablet
Before starting treatment with Aspirin Protect, your doctor should assess the necessity of its use in your specific case.
Aspirin® Protect film-coated tablets are available in a pack of 60.
