Southernwood (Artemisia abrotanum) belongs to the daisy family (Asteraceae) and is an aromatic, perennial plant from the genus Artemisia. It originates from Southern Europe and Western Asia and was already cultivated in monastery and farm gardens in the Middle Ages.
