Description

Antiflat® drops contain the active ingredient simethicone and are used to treat excessive gas formation and gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract. Bloating can be caused by unfamiliar or gas-producing foods, indigestion, or swallowing air. Infants and young children are particularly often affected.

The gases trapped in the intestine often exist in the form of fine-bubbled foam. Simethicone breaks down this foam, allowing the natural release of intestinal gases. This can quickly relieve bloating, tension, and fullness.

The active ingredient is not absorbed by the body, does not enter the bloodstream, and is excreted unchanged. Antiflat® drops are particularly suitable for infants, young children, the elderly, and individuals with dentures. The drops can also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Areas of Application

Antiflat® drops are used for:

• Excessive gas formation and gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal area

• Bloating

• Fullness

• Feeling of tension in the upper abdomen

• Increased gas formation after surgery

• Roemheld syndrome

• Preparation for ultrasound and X-ray examinations of the abdomen

• Detergent poisoning

Suitable for adults, adolescents, children, and infants.

Application

The drops can be taken with or after meals, and if necessary, before bedtime.

Antiflat® drops can be easily mixed with water, tea, milk, and bottle and baby food.

Dosage for Bloating and Fullness

Infants and Bottle-fed Babies

• 1 ml (16 drops) with each meal or bottle.

Toddlers

• Take 1 ml (16 drops) with a little water.

Adults

• 1–2 ml (16–32 drops) with or after meals.

Preparation for Diagnostic Examinations

On the day before the examination

• Adults take 2–3 ml (32–48 drops) with or after each meal.

On the day of the examination

• Take 2–3 ml (32–48 drops) in the morning.

For Detergent Poisoning

The dosage depends on the severity of the poisoning. A minimum dose of 5 ml (80 drops) is recommended.

Duration of Use

The duration of use depends on the course of symptoms. If necessary, Antiflat® can be used for a longer period.

Notes

• Shake well before use.

• Can be mixed with cold or warm drinks.

• In case of persistent or recurring symptoms, medical clarification should be sought.

• Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Antiflat® can have side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Simethicone is considered very well tolerated. In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions to individual ingredients may occur.
