What is Allernon and what is it used for?
Loratadine, the active ingredient in Allernon, is an anti-allergy medication (antihistamine). It has anti-itch and decongestant effects and reduces excessive fluid secretion
from the mucous membranes.
Allernon is suitable for the treatment of unpleasant symptoms of hay fever (sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, itching and burning of nose and eyes) and chronic urticaria (hives, with itching, redness and wheals on the skin).
How to take Allernon?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is:
Use in adults:
One tablet daily.
Use in children from 2 years of age and adolescents:
- For a body weight of 30 kg or less: half a tablet daily.
- For a body weight over 30 kg: one tablet daily.
Use in children under 2 years of age:
The safety and efficacy of Allernon 10 mg tablets in children under 2 years of age has not been established.
Use in patients with liver dysfunction:
The recommended dose should be taken every second day.
Use in elderly patients or in patients with renal impairment:
No dose adjustment is required.
Method of administration:
Swallow the tablets whole with some liquid. The tablets can be taken regardless of meals. The tablet can be divided into equal doses.
If you have taken more Allernon than you should:
Drowsiness, palpitations and headaches have been observed with overdose. If you suspect an overdose, please inform your doctor immediately so that he or she can decide on further action.
If you forget to take Allernon:
Do not take double the amount if you have forgotten the previous dose. If you have forgotten to take the tablets on time, take them as soon as possible. Then simply take the next dose at the usual time.
If you stop taking Allernon, the medicine may not work properly. The duration of use is determined by the treating physician. If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The active ingredient is: Loratadine. 1 tablet contains 10 mg Loratadine.
