What is ADOLORIN Ibuforte DIREKT 400 mg oral suspension and what is it used for?
This medicine contains ibuprofen and belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These have pain-relieving and fever-reducing effects.

ADOLORIN Ibuforte DIREKT 400 mg oral suspension is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and/or fever in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older, weighing 40 kg or more.

If you do not feel better or even worse, and if for adolescents the use of this medicine is required for more than 3 days, or for adults in case of pain for more than 4 days or fever for more than 3 days, consult your doctor.

How to use ADOLORIN Ibuforte DIREKT 400 mg oral suspension?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms. If you have an infection, consult a doctor without delay if symptoms (e.g. fever and pain) persist or worsen (see section 2).

The recommended dose is:
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over with a body weight of 40 kg or more:
The initial dose is 400 mg ibuprofen (1 sachet). If necessary, this dose can then be administered every 6 to 8 hours. The maximum total daily dose must not exceed 1200 mg (3 sachets) of ibuprofen.

You can reduce unwanted side effects by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest period necessary for symptom control.

Children under 12 years and adolescents weighing less than 40 kg:
Due to the high dosage of ibuprofen in one sachet, this medicine must not be given to children under 12 years and adolescents weighing less than 40 kg.

Duration of use
If adolescents need to use this medicine for more than 3 days or if symptoms worsen, consult your doctor immediately.
If adults need to use this medicine for fever for more than 3 days or for pain for more than 4 days, or if symptoms worsen, consult your doctor immediately.

Instructions for use
For oral administration.
Squeeze the contents of one sachet of ADOLORIN Ibuforte DIREKT 400 mg oral suspension directly into the mouth and, if necessary, drink a glass of water afterwards.
For patients with a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the medicine during meals.
The sachet has an elongated shape with a tear-off line at the top to open and squeeze out the contents.

If you have used more ADOLORIN Ibuforte DIREKT 400 mg oral suspension than you should
If you have accidentally exceeded the recommended dosage, please contact a doctor immediately.

If you have taken more ADOLORIN Ibuforte DIREKT than you should, or if children have taken the medicine by accident, always contact a doctor or a hospital nearby for an assessment of the risk and advice on further treatment.

Symptoms may include nausea, stomach pain, vomiting (possibly with blood), headache, ringing in the ears, confusion, and nystagmus. At high doses, drowsiness, chest pain, palpitations, fainting, convulsions (especially in children), weakness and dizziness, blood in the urine, chills, and breathing problems have been reported.

If you forget to use ADOLORIN Ibuforte DIREKT 400 mg oral suspension

Do not take or administer a double dose if you have forgotten the previous dose or application.

What ADOLORIN Ibuforte DIREKT 400 mg oral suspension contains
The active substance is ibuprofen.
Each sachet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen in 10 ml of oral suspension.

The other ingredients are:
Sodium benzoate (E211), Citric acid, anhydrous (E330), Sodium citrate (E331), Saccharin sodium (E954), Sodium chloride, Hypromellose (Type 2910) (E464), Xanthan gum, Maltitol solution (E965), Glycerol (99.8%) (E422) (Ph.Eur.), Strawberry flavor (contains nature-identical flavoring substances, natural flavoring preparations, corn maltodextrin, triethyl citrate (E1505), propylene glycol (E1520) and benzyl alcohol), Thaumatin (E 957), Purified water.
