Composition
1 g cream contains 50 mg Aciclovir.
Other ingredients:
250 mg Propylene glycol, 15 mg Cetyl alcohol.
Indications
For the local treatment of herpes labialis infections.
Dosage, method and duration of administration
Aciclobene "ratiopharm" cold sore cream should be applied thinly to the affected skin areas 5 times a day at 4-hour intervals, so that all lesions are sufficiently covered. Treatment with Aciclobene "ratiopharm" cold sore cream should be started as early as possible after the onset of infection. In case of recurrent infection, treatment should begin in the prodromal stage, when feelings of tension and itching occur. The duration of treatment is 5 days. In some cases, depending on the healing progress, it can be extended up to 10 days.
Side effects
The following classification was used for the frequency descriptions of side effects:
Very common: =1/10, Common: =1/100, <1/10, Uncommon: =1/1,000, <1/100, Rare: =1/10,000, <1/1,000, Very rare: <1/10,000, Not known: Frequency cannot be estimated based on available data. Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders
Uncommon: Temporary burning or stinging after application of Aciclobene "ratiopharm" cold sore cream. Mild dryness or flaking of the skin, itching.
Rare: Erythema, contact dermatitis after application. Contact dermatitis can be recognized by an exacerbation of the above-mentioned side effects that extend beyond the skin areas treated with the cream.
Immune system disorders
Very rare: Acute hypersensitivity reaction including angioedema.
