Lutamax AREDS 2 has been specifically developed for patients with advanced age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
The capsules contain a high-dose combination of lutein and zeaxanthin, as well as the antioxidant vitamins C and E and the minerals zinc and copper.
The composition is based on the nutrient concept of the AREDS 2 study, which investigated the importance of a targeted combination of selected vitamins, minerals, lutein, and zeaxanthin for specific stages of age-related macular degeneration.
What is the product intended for?
Lutamax AREDS 2 is intended for the dietary management of advanced age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
The product is designed to provide a targeted supply of lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, and copper for patients with corresponding nutritional requirements.
Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids that also occur naturally in the macula of the retina. Vitamin C, vitamin E, and zinc contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Zinc also contributes to the maintenance of normal vision.
In cases of existing AMD, Lutamax AREDS 2 should be used upon the recommendation and under the supervision of the attending ophthalmologist.

Recommended Intake
