Venoruton® Gel is a medicine for the local treatment of symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency in adults.

Active ingredient: Oxerutin

For chronic venous insufficiency, compression therapy with support stockings or bandages is the first-choice treatment to reduce the risk of thrombosis.
Area of Application
Venoruton® Gel is used in adults for the local treatment of the following symptoms:

Symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency such as tissue swelling due to fluid retention in the legs, pain and heavy legs, also in connection with long flights

Pain after varicose vein sclerotherapy
For symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency, compression therapy with support stockings or bandages may also be necessary.
Contraindications
Do not use Venoruton® Gel if you are allergic to oxerutin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Interactions
No interactions with other medicines are known.
Pregnancy, Breastfeeding and Fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
As a precautionary measure, Venoruton® Gel should not be used during the first 3 months of pregnancy, except after consulting a doctor.
If you are breastfeeding, Venoruton® Gel must not be applied to the breast, as the baby could ingest the medicine.
Breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before using Venoruton®.
Application
Apply Venoruton® Gel to the affected area morning and evening.
Rub the gel gently towards the knee with increasing massage pressure from bottom to top until it is completely absorbed by the skin.
If necessary, Venoruton® Gel can also be applied under bandages or support stockings.
In Case of Vein Inflammation
In case of sudden vein inflammation (thrombophlebitis), please consult your doctor.
Venoruton® Gel should only be applied carefully in case of vein inflammation and should never be massaged in firmly.
Note on Discoloration
The active ingredient of Venoruton® Gel is yellow. If the gel is applied in abundant quantities, yellow stains may appear on laundry.
Such color stains can be removed by thorough soaking and subsequent washing with a delicate detergent.
Use in Children and Adolescents
There is insufficient data on the use in children and adolescents.
Therefore, the use of Venoruton® Gel in children and adolescents is not recommended.

Side Effects
Like all medicines, Venoruton® Gel can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Rare Side Effects
In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions of the skin have been observed.
These skin reactions usually disappear quickly after discontinuation of the treatment.
