Venoruton® 1000 mg Granules is a medicine for the supportive treatment of symptoms of leg vein diseases and hemorrhoids.

• Active ingredient: O-(beta-Hydroxyethyl)-rutosides (Oxerutin)

• 1 sachet with 3 g of granules contains 1000 mg Oxerutin

• For water retention (edema) and swelling of the legs

• For pain, cramps and tingling in the legs

• For tired and heavy legs

• For supportive treatment of hemorrhoids

• Dosage: 1 sachet daily

• The contents of the sachet are dissolved in a glass of water

• Usual treatment duration: 4 to 8 weeks

Area of application

Venoruton® 1000 mg Granules is used for the supportive treatment of symptoms of leg vein diseases and hemorrhoids.

For leg vein diseases, Venoruton® can be used for the following symptoms:

• Water retention (edema)

• Swelling

• Leg pain

• Cramps

• Tingling in the legs

• Tired legs

• Heavy legs

In addition, Venoruton® is used for the supportive treatment of symptoms of hemorrhoids.

Contraindications

Do not take Venoruton® if you are allergic to oxerutin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Interactions

No interactions with other medicines are known.

Nevertheless, inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or intend to take any other medicines.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Pregnancy

For reasons of particular caution, Venoruton® should not be taken during the first 3 months of pregnancy.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking Venoruton®.

Application and Dosage

Dissolve the contents of one sachet completely in a glass of water.

The recommended dose is:

• 1 sachet per day

• Take in the morning or evening

One sachet contains 3 g of granules with 1000 mg of oxerutin.

Duration of treatment

Treatment for a period of 4 to 8 weeks is usually sufficient.

The effect can last beyond this treatment period.

Always take Venoruton® according to the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

Important notes

If symptoms do not improve, worsen, or new symptoms appear during treatment, medical advice should be sought.

In the event of sudden severe pain or swelling of a leg, possible thrombosis should be medically clarified.

• 1000 mg O-(beta-hydroxyethyl)-rutosides (= oxerutin)

Other ingredients

• Saccharin sodium

• Mannitol (E 421)

• Citric acid

Side effects

Like all medicines, Venoruton® can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very rare, possibly serious allergic reactions – may affect up to 1 in 10,000 treated patients

If any of the following signs of an allergic reaction occur, Venoruton® must be discontinued and immediate medical attention sought:

• Difficulty breathing or swallowing

• Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat

• Severe skin itching with a red rash or raised skin lesions

If these symptoms occur, the medicine must not be taken further.

Rare side effects – may affect up to 1 in 1,000 treated patients

• Gastrointestinal disorders

• Flatulence

• Diarrhea

• Abdominal discomfort

• Stomach discomfort

• Indigestion

• Skin rash

• Itching

• Hives

Very rare side effects – may affect up to 1 in 10,000 treated patients

• Dizziness

• Headache

• Fatigue

• Facial flushing
