Hirudoid® Forte Gel is an anti-inflammatory and cooling gel for the local treatment of blunt injuries, bruises and superficial phlebitis.

Bruises, sprains, hematomas or superficial phlebitis are often accompanied by pain, swelling and a feeling of tension. Especially after injuries or with irritated veins, targeted local treatment is important to relieve symptoms and support healing.

Hirudoid® Forte Gel contains the proven active ingredient mucopolysaccharide polysulphate in a higher dosage and acts directly on the affected area. The gel supports the regression of bruises, swelling and superficial microthrombi and at the same time promotes the regeneration of connective tissue.

Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, Hirudoid® Forte Gel can specifically reduce pain and swelling. The cooling gel base also provides a pleasant fresh effect immediately after application.

Application

Apply a gel strand about 3 to 5 cm long to the affected area once to several times a day and spread lightly. A larger amount can also be used if necessary.

The usual treatment duration is:

• up to 10 days for blunt injuries
• about 1 to 2 weeks for superficial phlebitis

The gel is also suitable for physical treatment methods such as phonophoresis or iontophoresis.

Note

For external use only. Do not apply to open wounds, inflamed or infected skin areas, mucous membranes or eyes.

There is insufficient experience for children and adolescents. If symptoms persist or there is no improvement, medical advice should be sought.

Application during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible.

Storage

Store dry and not excessively warm. After opening, the tube can be kept for 1 year. Keep out of reach of children.

Ingredients

Active ingredient:
445 mg mucopolysaccharide polysulphate.

Other ingredients:
Organo-heparinoid Luitpold, purified water, sodium hydroxide, propylene glycol, carbomer and isopropanol.

Side effects

Rarely, skin reactions such as redness, itching or hypersensitivity reactions may occur. Propylene glycol can cause skin irritation. If skin irritation or allergic symptoms occur, discontinue use.
