Seresto collar for large dogs over 8 kg against ticks and fleas, kills and repels for up to 8 months
An infestation of fleas and ticks is not only annoying, but it can also have health consequences for dogs. A flea bite can lead to severe itching, redness, and even allergies, known as flea allergy dermatitis (FAD). Dangerous pathogens can be transmitted to the dog through a tick bite. Seresto contains two active ingredients: Imidacloprid kills adult fleas and their larvae upon contact with the treated animal. Flumethrin repels and kills ticks.
No other flea or tick treatment combines these two active ingredients. These two active ingredients work together in tick treatments. The Seresto tick collar repels and kills ticks and kills fleas – simply by contact with the dog's skin and coat. This means that ticks generally do not need to bite your dog to be effectively killed. This indirectly reduces the risk of transmitting certain pathogens through tick bites. Another advantage of Seresto: it reduces the dog's risk of leishmaniasis infection. The pathogen of leishmaniasis, Leishmania infantum, is transmitted by sand flies. This makes it expressly suitable for protection when traveling.
The special feature of the Seresto collar is that it releases its active ingredients in controlled, low, but effective amounts. This protects your dog against fleas and ticks for up to 8 months. The active ingredient remains in the natural lipid layer of the skin and coat. The collar is odorless and also water-resistant, so a walk in the rain does not have any adverse effects on the collar's effectiveness*.
The advantages of the Seresto collar:
• Duration of action up to 8 months, without monthly re-treatments
• For the treatment and prevention of flea infestation
• For the treatment of biting lice infestation
• Repels and kills ticks – before biting
• Can be used on puppies from 7 weeks of age
• Indirect protection against certain pathogens transmitted by ticks and sand flies (e.g. leishmaniasis)
• Water-resistant*
• Odorless
• External effect only
The Seresto collar for large dogs is recommended for body weights over 8 kg. It is 70 cm long. * Further information can be found in the instructions for use.
Application:
Remove the Seresto collar from its protective pouch immediately before use, unroll the collar, and remove the plastic connectors on the inside of the collar. Place the collar around the animal's neck without tightening it too much (note: it should be possible to place two fingers between the collar and the neck). Thread the end of the collar through the loops and cut off any excess length longer than 2 cm. The collar should be worn continuously for the 8-month duration of action and then removed. The collar should be checked regularly, and if necessary, the fit should be adjusted, especially for fast-growing young cats or puppies.
