Pelvic Floor Disorders – Inflammatory, Infectious, or Due to Overuse, also with HPV-Positive Findings
Discomfort in the area of the pelvic floor and minor pelvis can have various causes. These include infections and inflammations in the genital and urinary organs, as well as overuse or muscle tension in the pelvic floor muscles.
A positive HPV finding can coexist but is not automatically the cause of pain or inflammatory symptoms in the pelvic floor.
Infectious and Inflammatory Causes
Infections in the vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, or urinary tract can cause discomfort. Depending on the cause, the following may occur:
-
Pain or pressure in the lower abdomen and pelvis
-
Burning or pain during urination
-
Pain during intercourse
-
Changed or unusual vaginal discharge
-
Intermenstrual bleeding or contact bleeding
-
Fever and general malaise
An ascending infection of the female reproductive organs can lead to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), which requires medical treatment.
Overuse and Tension of the Pelvic Floor
Discomfort can also arise without infection. An overactive, tense, or overused pelvic floor musculature can cause pain and pressure sensations.
Possible symptoms include:
-
Pressure or foreign body sensation in the pelvis
-
Pulling or burning pain
-
Pain during intercourse
-
Discomfort when sitting
-
Problems with urination or bowel movements
-
Pain after physical exertion
Depending on the cause, physiotherapy and targeted pelvic floor therapy may be beneficial.
HPV – Human Papillomavirus
HPV (Human Papillomaviruses) comprises a large group of different virus types. Infections are very common and often proceed without symptoms. The immune system can often control or eliminate the infection within some time.
However, certain high-risk HPV types can persist for a longer period and cause cellular changes, particularly in the cervix. A positive HPV test does not automatically mean that cancer is present.
Regular gynecological check-ups and recommended cervical examinations are particularly important with an HPV finding.
Diagnosis and Treatment
Since infectious, gynecological, urological, and muscular causes can lead to similar symptoms, the cause should be medically clarified. Treatment depends on the diagnosis and may include, for example, targeted treatment of an infection or physiotherapeutic treatment of the pelvic floor.
Homeopathy according to Dr. Banerji
In homeopathy according to Dr. Banerji, established homeopathic remedies and potencies are used according to the Banerji protocols for various complaints and clinical pictures.
The effectiveness of homeopathic remedies for treating a bacterial infection, pelvic inflammation, or eliminating an HPV infection is not scientifically proven. Necessary gynecological diagnostics and treatment, as well as recommended HPV and cervical check-ups, should therefore not be replaced or delayed.
Important Note
Severe or increasing lower abdominal pain, fever, unusual bleeding, foul-smelling discharge, or a significantly worsened general condition should be promptly clarified gynecologically.
